This is the motor to run if you are running a car in the 21.5T class, locked timing. Plenty of oomph - I'm happy as a 21.5T...

This is the spec motor for the majority of classes in the Tamiya Championship Series (TCS) races. They were optional for the 25 season and are a mandatory replacement for the 26 season. I have had no issues with them to date and they perform well.

Very poor quality control. Purchased 3 motors to run in spec 21.5 buggy class. Went through tech before racing and my wife's motor failed. Timing is too high. Max allowable is 46 degrees. Wife's motor is 47 degrees. Daughters motor is factory set at 42 degrees, and son's is set at 45 degrees. So a 5 degree swing straight out of the box. No wonder the speeds seem to vary! Now I have to deal with their warranty service to see if they can replace the one that I'm not allowed to race.

great motor for On road 1/10 scale. I bought few of them for my friends . Now is my turn for my Mugen MTC2

What reviewers say

Reviewers generally rate this 21.5T sensored brushless motor highly, with buyers describing it as strong for 21.5T class racing and a standard spec motor in Tamiya Championship Series events. One reviewer reports no problems so far. A single negative review describes inconsistent timing across motors bought together, with one unit measured above the 46-degree limit and failing tech inspection, and a warranty replacement needed. Another reviewer uses the motor in on-road 1/10 scale. Overall, the reviews are few and mostly positive, with the one critical account raising a quality control concern.

  • + Strong power for 21.5T class
  • + Accepted as spec motor in TCS races
  • + Works well in on-road 1/10 use
  • − Inconsistent timing out of the box
  • − Unit failed tech inspection for timing
  • − Warranty replacement needed
