Great G3S Sensored Brushless motor with ESC installed at my friends on road car .
(WARNING! TRIGGER EFFECT!) LOL first! the price is hard to beat! and for stock "Spec Racing" this is a Solid buy! if "NEVER RACED BEFORE"! super great for Beginners! and "ANYONE" just starting out! now? if getting for say? a "TAMIYA Porsche Spec Class" even with the "Max Allowed" Gearing! with a 64 tooth Tamiya Spur and 29 pinion, it is DEAD SLOW, but!! upside! it does have great Torque! and thats what it is made for, but? if say wanting to have some fun just going fast? buy the 13 or 10 turn, the "Stock" Brushed Motor included with the Kit is Faster!, and get Bearings! "Speed Gear set" HIGHLY RECOMMEND, it gives it some "PEP"!! : ) it is FUN! and Hard to beat! but if deciding to race? and in Spec Classes? it is "VERY SLOW"! the Stock motor "IS FASTER" and if put in a Old School Brushed Motor Old Trinity Motors come to mind! (with its "Stock ESC) it is BALISTIC!! feels like Old school 17 Quad! or the 20t Outlaw motors! however, in "Spec Classes" the stock system is "NOT ALLOWED" in some classes! and the ESC can "ONLY RUN in BLINKY mode, and the hobbywing "Just Stock 21.5T Motor" is pretty slow. but? if a racer that is used to slight higher speeds? this will feel "Very Slow" the upside, it is "Designed this way" as a Beginner type motor combo (with the 21.5 combo) and relies on skill set of driver for setting up car etc. still is Great! and FUN! but very Slow!!, something to consider? if like some more "Pep" in a Motor/ESC combo, but!! you can get 64 pitch Spurs and Pinions to the 3.8 range "Without Cutting or Modifying the chassis! and the motor PICKS UP! as it is recommended a 3:5 to 1 or a 3:0 to 1 ratio !! and its a Bullet!! and!! feels like the Old School "Outlaw 21 and 20 turn Brushed motors!" and barley begins to get warm, but! this is not "Legal" for most "Spec Classes" this will vary! from club to club! and hop ups allowed etc. so if starting out, this is one heck of a deal!! but if looking for something little faster! might consider the 13 or 10t combo, but! can not race say the TT02 Spec classes with anything other than the 21.5 motor. just something to "Consider" when running this Combo, now? for Touring cars! it is real EASY to get to that Ratio! because of the wide range of Spurs and Pinions! but in the TCS races!! your MAXIMUM! gearing and have to Use the "Tamiya Gears"!! is a 64 tooth Spur! and a 29 pinion! and it is Really Slow! but still Pretty fun!!!
The system seems nice on paper and that is where it ends. First of all the ESC is defective right out of the box. The fan runs none stop and Hobby HW link does not offer fan control as advertised on screwtube. Hobbywing yech support was less then helpful actually the rep was condescending so this leaves me no option then open a return request where I have a feeling I will get a run around. I did initialize RMS via Hobbywing, howerever other then a confirmation email I did not hear from anyone! Kind of frustrating because I had brushed set up ready to go in and switch it up for the latest greatest Brushless!!
Great price to enter a spec 2wd buggy class. Blacked out wires, no external capacitors for a small footprint and clean look. Overall a great combo.
Four reviews of the Hobbywing XR10 Justock G3S sensored brushless combo, all for the 21.5T variant. Reviewers agree the price is low, which makes it attractive for entry-level spec 2WD buggy racing. Two reviewers praise the clean, blacked-out wiring and the compact setup without external capacitors, and one reports good performance in a friend's road car. The reviews diverge on performance: one describes the combo as slow with the stated gearing but strong on torque, and suggests upgrades for speed. One reviewer reports a defective ESC out of the box with a fan that runs constantly, a fan-control feature not working in the Hobbywing link app, and unhelpful support, with a return pending. Sample size is small.
- + Low price for entry-level spec racing

- + Strong low-end torque
- − Slow with max-allowed gearing
- − Reported defective ESC with constant fan noise
- − Fan control missing in companion app
- − Unhelpful customer support experience
