This is my second sport cub s2. It’s an awesome little plane just make sure you fly it in very light wind. I lost the first one because I made the mistake of flying it in 13 mph wind and it just sailed off into the distance. I used the remote that came with the rtf and just bought a bnf version. That being said the remote that comes with the rtf doesn’t seem to have that far of range, which also led to me losing the plane that day as it become unresponsive to any controls. The safe technology is awesome and the panic button has saved me a few times when I decided to go to the intermediate or advanced modes. I would just buy extra batteries right out of the gate, the thing is a blast and gets about 6 or 7 minutes before you hear the transmitter tel you it is low and it’s time to land. I got the 45c batteries and 25c batteries and I do thing the 45c offers a little more power and they are the same price I believe. They make a charger that can charge all 6 at once which is great and while you are flying you can just use a power bank and charge them up to keep the flying going. I’d recommend this to anyone starting out like myself!
Enjoying product, but problem with motor, only half power after using plane less than 10 times. Have purchased gear box and motor to replace. Also single usb battery charger doesn't work. I bought a multiple battery charger that works fine. Otherwise plane flies well. With low motor output (about half previous full output) am gaining experience in slow flight maneuvering.
Was able to bind easily , Flew very nice and was able to fly slow in a small area. DOWNSIDE, I have had several of this type of plane with these small batteries and thin wires, a couple of them for many years. After about three flights and being very careful when removing battery, one wire from the battery lead broke just past the motor and another broke for one of the ailerons. I went ahead and repaired them but concerned about these thin wires doing this again.
Too small to fly in any sort of wind. Very problematic battery connection had to tape connector together to get it to stay on. Will not bind if radio is too close to plane. Spend more and get something better….
This is the plane I take with me when a friend wants to come flying with me. I can hand this to someone with zero experience and talk them through their first experience. It is so slow and with safe on it is easy to stay oriented for a beginner. There's very little weight so kinetic energy doesn't destroy it when crashed. Parts are cheap and available. This is an excellent first experience/plane. I enjoy hovering it in a light breeze. "It is not for a blustery day Poo Bear" according to Christoher Robbin.
Reviewers generally find the Sport Cub S 2 BNF slow, easy to fly and well suited to beginners, with SAFE mode and the panic button frequently praised. Several recommend it for light-wind flying only, as reviewers report it sails off or loses control in winds around 13 mph. Reported problems include a motor losing power after few flights, a faulty USB charger, a loose or unreliable battery connector, thin wires that broke, and limited radio range. Some reviewers suggest buying spare batteries and upgrading the battery. One reviewer noted the tires sink in sand. Customer support received praise from one reviewer. Two reviews were off-topic or pre-delivery, so the sample is modest.
