I purchased mine from Holmes hobbies a while back when it was first released. I run this in a trx6 with a mamba monster x. First, running this with a mamba x will cause it to sit at 160f or higher due to the fan coming in at 150f and it not having a large enough heat sink. I also saw slightly higher ripple on the mamba x vs mmx at 1.08v vs 0.96v. Ripple was the same on the mmx when using a 4mm bullet to 6.5 adapter, but is much better now that I have soldered on the 6.5 bullets. Please use a monster x esc with this I was seeing 155-175f temps on the mamba x vs 130-155f on the mmx. Once the monster x fan comes on it sheds the heat. This motor has a 5mm shaft and the smallest pinion is 11t. Geared the lowest, I see 150amps and 1600-1800 watts on the datalogs. This motor is ballistic. But it crawls really well. A puller pro standard is smoother starting up but it won’t affect performance. I run dual fans because this motor has gotten to 160f on me when the ambient temps jumped above 90f. Was hitting the 160f shutoff, but now I run 115-130f motor temps. You need good batteries and gearing. On 3s this has a max rpm range of 51,660 to 41,000 (12.6-10v). Ultimately this is my favorite motor. It can crawl very very slowly but have insane ballistic acceleration.
great motor, loads of torque. i put in my trx4, geared down. crawls like a monster
