Hot Racing 85mm Suspension Travel Limit Straps (2) (Black/Silver)
About this part
Hot Racing 85mm Suspension Travel Limit Straps are functional suspension limit straps that limit suspension travel on all types of off-road R/C vehicles, including rock crawlers and racers. Limit straps are used to take stress off shocks and to control suspension extension. For example, when crawling up or descending steep grades, straps tied to the center of an axle are useful to limit the suspension from unloading and the vehicle from rolling, all while keeping suspension articulation intact.
Features:
- Woven 2-ply Nylon fabric strap material
- CNC machined aluminum clevis buckles
Length eye-to-eye: 85mm
Total length end-to-end: 92mm
Nominal strap size: 8x2.3mm
Eyelet hole size: 3.3mm for a 3mm screw
NOTE:
- These straps are made from 200 lb. test nylon and offers minimal stretch to provide a consistent strap length and to protect against overextending shocks
- Tested on extreme off-road terrain
- Strap lengths are measured from the center of the mounting holes and are accurate to +/3mm
- Recommendation: when ordering, choose a limit strap that is at least 5mm shorter than the shock to prevent full extension and possible breakage of shock

These 85mm HR straps were cheaper through Amain than any online store here in Australia including shipping! Excellent service from Amain. These are the perfect length for the Traxxas ERevo 2.0, 80mm are too short imo. HR also sell a spacer kit, you’ll want 5-6mm spacers. I purchased some dark blue ally spacers from AliExpress, 3M 6mm. You’ll also need x2 3M 25mm screws, I purchased HPI screws, part number Z538. Hope this helps someone wanting to do the limiting strap mod on their 2.0 Revo. Cheers Amain.
I recently bought these for my RC but I'm sure this will be applicable to all their straps. Much to my surprise they're not true to their advertised length. I wrote to Hot Racing with pictures and invoice asking for a replacement, however, initially I was told that they have to be "persuaded" a bit and that if I "give them a firm tug and try to stretch them, they usually end up the same length" but that didn't happen. Now if I install them like this, the droop is not equal and it screws up the dynamics. So, I again insisted that I should get a replacement to which they said that they need these back or, alternatively, I can return them to the point of purchase. Now I'm based outside the US. That means I would have to pay way more than the item itself to send it back to them or the point of purchase. And then they realized that I was not in the US, so they very conveniently said that they do not offer warranty outside the US. That was even worse because I still paid the same price that a US resident would pay but I neither got the same quality nor the same service. I wonder if all this is done on purpose. They're acting just like Traxxas. Now for the price I paid, I'd expect these to be Made in Japan or at least Taiwan. But Made in China stuff keeps proving time and time again that it will never meet my expectations. And to top it off their QC is just as bad as the quality of these straps. I'm not too impressed with their aluminum parts either but then everyone knows about it so I'd rather not cover those here. I'd say they're very low quality items that one should strictly avoid.
