About this part

The Hot Racing Slash 4x4 Aluminum Center One-Way Differential drives the front and rear wheels under forward acceleration, but allows the front to 'freewheel' under braking, decelerating, and reversing. A center one-way allows the vehicle to be 'whipped' around during braking. The center one-way allows front differential action, unlike a front one-way. This item is compatible with the Traxxas Slash 4X4, Stampede 4X4, Rally VXL, and Telluride 4X4 vehicles equipped with the center gear differential.

NOTE: This item requires a spur gear that's for a center gear differential. If the vehicle uses a slipper, then the spur gear will not work and a spur gear designed for a center gear differential will need to be purchased.

Features:

  • Ideal for racing on tight tracks where maximum off-power steering is needed
  • Allows the vehicle to be 'whipped' around during braking for tight corners
  • Maintains front differential action
  • 6x10mm one-way bearing
Includes:
  • (1) center on-way differential
  • (1) steel shaft
  • (3) M3x5mm button head cap screws
NOTE: Requires a spur gear designed specifically for a center gear differential.

Yes the products worked well helped a lot with drifting but after a while of use the inside of the center diff hollowed out I don’t if it was cause I was using it on 4s or just a bad product overall if you buy this product don’t use it on 4s

Garbage product that DOES NOT fit the Slash 4x4 as intended. Have multiple upgrades installed on the Slash 4x4, including the following: -LCG Chassis -HR font/rear bulkheads -HR motor mount and much more, however, are the most important to note. THE ISSUE IS, that the HR motor mount that's marketed to be a direct fit replacement/upgrade, doesn't allow for securing the rear bulkhead and assembly. The bearing housed inside the motor mount for the LCG chassis is positioned so that the bulkhead and attached suspension can't be slid into place, whereas the stock direct drive center differential easily allows for securing the rear of the truck to the main chassis. Don't waste your time with this optional upgrade!

Iv'e been running this diff for 7 or 8 months and it still works. Iv'e run this diff with 2s, 3s, and an 8th scale system for a while and it always operated perfectly. What does it do for you? My truck doesn't flip when I nail the brakes any more and all the 2wd brake tricks I use to increase traction in the corners works. It's extremely tough and works very well, I highly recommend it. I just want to mention it fits exactly the same as the stock diff. If it doesn't the spur gear is bolted to the wrong side of the mounts. If it doesn't fit unbolt the spur gear and bolt it to the other side of the gear mount. Now it will fit the same as stock.

What reviewers say

Three reviews cover this aluminum center one-way differential for the Traxxas Slash 4x4, and their experiences differ. One verified owner reports seven to eight months of reliable use across 2S, 3S and 8th-scale systems, says it fits like the stock differential, and says it improved braking and cornering traction. A second reviewer found it helpful for drifting but reports the inside of the center diff hollowing out after use on 4S power. A verified owner with LCG chassis and HR motor mount upgrades says the setup prevents securing the rear bulkhead and suspension. Fit and durability under higher power are the main points of disagreement.

  • + Durable for some owners
  • + Improves braking and cornering traction
  • + Helpful for drifting
  • + Fits like stock for one owner
  • − Inside hollows out on 4S
  • − Rear bulkhead fit problem with LCG chassis and HR motor mount
  • − Mixed durability reports
  • − Fit issues reported by one owner
