They have less travel than original. They are difficult to get the oil level just right, then tend to bind up or not compress fully. They work differently at different temperatures. The only redeeming quality is their looks.

I like mine, I did have an issue with binding at first once that’s sorted the more you use them the better they work. They even out the way the Jeep sits, and the also help with the increased torque of the Furitek brushless motor I put on. The rubber gaskets that hold them onto the shock towers fell off and are completely useless. I went to the hardware store and bought small E clamps for a buck or so and they popped right on and have stayed in place. They also match my new wheel and tire set up. The INJORA beadlocks in the same color with the RC4WD mudslingers, awesome combo if you can fit the tires.

Still the gold standard for oil shocks for the SCX24 (along with their long travel versions). No leaks and easy to bleed/fill. To those who have sticking shocks, do yourselves a favor and just put a small dot of Green Slime on the bottom seal with piston/shaft removed, then reinsert shaft and reassemble.

kind of terrible, stick a lot, there is a lot of play in the shaft using on a scx24 bronco

The best shocks I have put on my SCX24 have tryd many others and all have disappointed me I have them on a Deadbolt and my Bronco and my Jeep wrangler SCX24 just three drops of shock oil in each shock and your good to go have some fun so far very happy

What reviewers say

Reviewers are divided on these aluminum threaded oil emulsion shocks for the SCX24. Critics describe reduced travel compared with the original shocks, difficulty setting the oil level, binding or incomplete compression, sticking, shaft play, and performance that changes with temperature. Some report that binding stops after break-in and that a dot of grease on the bottom seal fixed sticking. Supporters say the shocks are a go-to upgrade, don't leak, are easy to bleed and fill, and suit Jeep and Bronco builds. One owner said the stock rubber gaskets fell off and was fixed with small hardware-store clamps. Several reviews mention Jeep or Bronco builds, and the reviews do not state a variant beyond the listed set of four.

  • + Easy to bleed and fill
  • + No leaks reported
  • + Improves Jeep stance and handling
  • + Good looks and matching color
  • − Reduced travel versus original
  • − Difficult oil level setting
  • − Binding or sticking
  • − Gasket retention problems
