About this part

The Hot Racing Axial SCX24 Aluminum Threaded Telescopic Shock are a friction damped shock option that provides increased travel compared to the standard type shock. These shocks feature a telescoping type shock body that adds length during extension, and reduces length as the shock compresses, providing more overall shock travel. Tacky grease is recommended to help reduce friction and smooth out the damping. The included faux reservoir shock cap provides realistic scale looks, but is non functional.

Features:

  • Machined aluminum brass construction
  • Telescopic design for maximum travel
  • Threaded shock bodies for quick pre-load adjustments
  • Tacky grease to help with smooth damping
  • Scale-looking reservoir (non-functioning; for scale only)
  • Three spring rates included
  • Replaces Axial AXI31612 SCX24 shock set

NOTE:

  • Reservoir is non-functional
  • Mount with wide flange outward to retain O-rings.
  • Use tacky grease or Silicone diff lub for a heavy coating.

Specifications:
Extended length eye-to-eye: ~48.5mm
Compressed length eye-to-eye: ~28.5mm
Stroke: 20mm
Spring Length: 32mm 14 Turn (0.3, 0.35, 0.4)

Includes:

  • (4) Tele shocks
  • (4) soft springs (black)
  • (4) Med Spring (Gold)
  • (4) Firm springs (silver)
  • (8) M1.4x8 cap head screws

Nice product, meets description. However, with a stock C10 and the softest springs installed it will raise ride height to max extension of the shocks making truck way too tall. Would be perfect if you're going for a mud truck look but not ideal for a trail/crawler use

My son has these on his crawler and they are perfect. I have the same build and am now finally biting the bullet and ordering myself a pair. If you have a heavy build get these. We have all metal builds and they hold up under all that weight quite well.

One of the best options for the SCX24 for a longer travel shock.

Put these on and the vehicle constantly rolls over from being top heavy. I am changing back to the stock shocks and throwing them out. Waste of money except for the vehicle looking lifted.

I love these! Really a great upgrade for the deadbolt, I’m running full droop with these until and did switch to a longer wheelbase by doing a 4 link front end using the extra links and old shock balls, I put the lower links on top and use the extra links that came in the box on the bottom, also trimmed the spare female driveshaft to fit, I recommend running the rear stiffer or doing front limiting straps, also I heard it’s good to put grease in the top for dampened action. Anyways these are extremely tunable and I recommend these, bit steep on the price I feel but it’s an upgrade lol

What reviewers say

Reviewers generally find the shocks well made and a good option for longer travel on the SCX24. Several praise their durability under heavy builds and their tunability. Recurring concerns centre on ride height: with stock springs and the softest setting, one owner reports the truck sits at maximum shock extension, which suits a lifted look but is unsuitable for trail use. Another reports the vehicle rolling over because it is top heavy, and returned to stock shocks. One reviewer notes the price is steep. Reviews describe the product as meeting its description, though experiences with stability and ride height differ by build.

  • + Durable under heavy builds
  • + Longer travel than stock
  • + Highly tunable
  • + Meets description
  • − Raises ride height excessively with soft springs
  • − Top-heavy rollover reported
  • − Steep price
