These seem to be well made which is very surprising considering most things I've seen from Hot Racing have royally sucked. But these are a welcome relief. They seem to be a good design and look like they will hold up well. Add some grease for longevity.
Now buying my 3rd set of these Hot Racing drive shafts. They dont break, because of their design, they dont plug with dirt. We run a dirt oval which is more sand and than dirt. The stock Traxxas axles, while fairly reliable, plug up with sand/dirt which binds the rear suspension from being free moving. If the suspension dont work, the car wont corner worth a darn. Best I have found, pricey ?? yes.
i really love these axles my only issue so far after a few batteries, the pin that holds the slider on to the out drive fell out along with the grub screw, hot racing does make rebuild kits but do not sell the part that holds the slider on to the out drive, yet they sell every single part, accept that pin and set screw....makes no sense, i did call hot racing and had very helpful representative help me
Reviewers generally rate these rear light weight CV drive shafts for Traxxas Rustler/Stampede highly, with two of three giving five stars. Buyers describe them as well made, durable and resistant to clogging with sand and dirt, which one reviewer says keeps rear suspension moving freely. One reviewer, a repeat buyer, calls them the best option found despite a higher price. The main recurring issue is durability of a retaining part: one verified owner reported the pin and set screw that secure the slider to the outdrive fell out after a few batteries, and noted that the replacement pin and set screw are not sold separately even though rebuild kits are available. That reviewer found the manufacturer's support helpful. The sample is small at three reviews.
