After about 4 2s packs ran thru I’d rate this as a 4.25 star. My son got a 2wd rustler brushless BLS the same day so I’ll throw a couple comparisons in. The good: - fast enough on 2s, 3s is almost uncontrollable. - suspension and handling are good, especially on short grass. Understeers at higher speeds but is expected with 2wd. - effortless wheelies on 2s, buy the hpi wheelie bar - love the looks. - I like that you can turn it off and disconnect the battery without removing the body - clear pinion/spur cover is cool The bad: - before you even drive it, take out the 2 wierd screws that hold the motor and put different ones in with better heads and some lock tite. Mine slipped on the first run and shaved a little bit of tooth surface off of the spur. - make sure to program the esc before driving. Instructions are in box. As far as compared to the BLS rustler here are a few points. Loses: -$50 more but does not come with a clipless body or wheelie bar like the updated rustler. -tires not as nice -spoiler is flimsy and might as well not be there. Wins: -faster on 2s and much faster with 3s capabilities -although outdated the tf41 transmitter has many more features than the Traxxas tq. -better steering servo than rustler

I purchased this to check out this series of HPI vehicles. First thing I want to mention is that if you're looking for the option parts, Amain does not carry them. (Amain please look into carrying them) Second, is that with any RTR (Ready To Reassemble) you need to go through the vehicle. On mine in particular the diff leaked some fluid out. I cleaned out what fluid was left and put in some 3k wt diff oil. (Stock is 1k). Another thing I want to mention is make sure you have good Allen drivers (I recommend MIP). Have your blue thread lock on hand and check your motor screws and pinion set screw use the thread lock. Now on to the vehicle. As with most HPI Flux systems this thing runs great! It's pretty fast on 2s. It's more of a track and street basher. Durability hasn't been an issue and everything is holding up well. Radio and electronics are trouble free and work very well. Tip: change the servo to a Protek 100ss and thank me later! Performance is good however the truck doesn't have the adjustability (ie camber, caster, or wheelbase) compared to other ST trucks. You can move the whole center electronics portion forward 2 holes to improve weight bias. Tires are general purpose softish compound and will wear semi-quickly on pavement. Lastly, the thing that bothers me the most (design flaw) is the fact you have to remove the right rear inner camber link screw to fully remove the gear cover. Not a huge issue, but for maintenance its one extra thing to have to deal with. You can tell HPI designed this vehicle with certain $$$ budget in mind. Overall I'm happy with the purchase and have been a fan of HPI for a long time. Glad I purchased it and I'm having fun with the vehicle! ??

This thing rips and is plenty fast on 2S. Wheelie machine on pavement and low grass. You will want another set of tires for any sort of loose dirt since stock tires don't offer much grip. I moved the electronics all the way forward and made it much more stable. Stock TX is decent and battery swaps are a breeze with the underside battery access. Good basher and takes a beating.

What reviewers say

Reviewers generally find the Jumpshot ST FLUX V2 fast and fun on 2S packs, with strong wheelie performance and good suspension on short grass and pavement. Two reviewers note it understeers at higher speed, and that 3S is hard to control. The most common recurring problem is loose motor screws that need replacing and thread lock before first use. One reviewer reported a leaking differential and changed to heavier diff oil. Stock tires are described as offering little grip in loose dirt. Ratings are 4 or 5 out of 5. Reviews are few, and all three are for this variant.

  • + Fast and strong on 2S
  • + Good wheelie performance
  • + Good suspension and handling on short grass
  • + Easy battery swaps and durable
  • − Loose motor screws need replacing with thread lock
  • − Stock tires lack grip in loose dirt
  • − Understeers at higher speed
  • − Diff leak reported
