About the Venture18 Flux 1985 Toyota Hilux SR5

Authentic Design

The officially licensed 1985 Toyota Hilux SR5 body brings exceptional realism to the Venture18 Flux. Its clipless polycarbonate shell, clear windows, and molded scale details—including Toyota emblems, mirrors, wipers, door handles, and tube-style bumpers—make it a true miniature replica. The adjustable rock rails and Rockthorn 1.2-inch off-road tires mounted on CS-10 beadlock wheels provide both rugged function and visual authenticity. Whether climbing over rocks or cruising the trail, the sticky rubber tires and sleek wheels ensure grip and performance that match the Venture18's powerful capabilities.

Advanced Brushless Electronics

At the heart of the Venture18 Flux is the FLX18-3S20-T Brushless ESC, designed for maximum versatility and control. This water-resistant controller offers instant switching between crawling mode—with full drag brake for steep, technical terrain—and trail mode for smooth, flowing throttle response. Paired with the FLX18-1621 3500kV 12-pole brushless outrunner motor, the Venture18 delivers precise torque and effortless speed when needed. The SD-02MGWR metal-geared steering servo ensures reliable, high-torque steering, while the TF-706 2.4GHz 6-channel radio system gives you full command over every function.

LED Lighting & Scale Detailing

The Venture18 Flux enhances its scale realism with a complete LED lighting system controlled by the independant RL-700 LED Light Controller. Working headlights, brake lights, and turn signals adapt to your driving input, while selectable light modes allow you to illuminate any trail from day to night. The detailed SR5 body features rollbars with removable lights and light buckets ready for customization, letting you add even more realism and illumination. Combined with the clipless mounting system, adjustable rock sliders, and durable scale accessories, every adventure looks as good as it performs.

would like it better if it had interior. but as far as smaller rc trucks go absolutely love it. i like it has low gear and responds to some crawling like a full scale RC.

Steven Thomason HPI Venture18 Flux 1985 Toyota Hilux SR5 1/18 RTR 4WD Brushless Rock Crawler

I’m on my fifth 18 scale rc crawler and I went with different brands every time. This truck is hands down the best truck. Slow and fast. I’ve had mine for around a year with at least 40 charge cycles and still haven’t had one issue with this truck. All the bushings are getting loose but a bearing kit should take care of most of it. Buy this truck you will not be disappointed.

Andrew Leaveyon HPI Venture18 Flux 1985 Toyota Hilux SR5 1/18 RTR 4WD Brushless Rock Crawler

Super fun little trucks. I’ve got 2 of them. Stock wheels are ok, but I run stock on one truck and I have brass rims and mud slingers on the other. Huge difference. Drive shafts aren’t great if you’re abusing them like I do, but some cheap metal ones off amazon and it hasn’t been an issue since. I did manage to break a linkage, but I also crashed it at full speed on high gear on a 3s lipo. That’s about all the bad I’ve gotten out of both of them in almost a year. I take them practically everywhere. Streams, mud, snow, sand, rocks, clay tracks, etc. they’re fun anywhere. They run hot on a 3s, but it’s a good time. My GF loves the little turn signals and headlights.

Justin Beattieon HPI Venture18 Flux 1985 Toyota Hilux SR5 1/18 RTR 4WD Brushless Rock Crawler

I have had my venture 18 flux for over 6 months and must say that after continuous bashing it hasn’t let me down once. I did upgrade to the injura 1” brass wheels which look more proportional and the metal driveshafts
