I absolutely love this truck! It has plenty of power, great steering and handling and is very stable. This is definitely my new favorite. However, right out of the box the throttle servo did not work, I tested it and it was DOA. Also, the transmitter is horrible, it seems to glitch or momentarily lose power. So I cannot give it 5 stars but I do highly recommend this truck, just be ready to replace the electronics.

Quite possibly the worst RC purchase I've ever made. The list of problems it had straight out of the box are too much to even cover but here are my major problems The steering servo died before the break in was finished. The engine doesnt idle well at all The rear suspension blocks are so flexible that the arms and pins will pull out on even a slight bump The front end is extremely sloppy The shocks leak The stock springs are way too soft Parts support is terrible, with some essential parts such as the chassis not being produced or available anywhere. If you want a nitro truggy, find a used race kit from any major brand, you will have a much better time.

Let me start off by saying I absolutely love this Truggy , it’s my First Ever Truggy and my first Ever HPI Nitro . The steering servo is plenty powerful, always room for upgrades in the Future of course, the F4.6 Nitro engine I believe it’s a Force Engine, is great tunes easily has a lot of power to it , I’m also using VP 25 % Nitro 11 % oil ( it seems to love that Blend ) . Overall I’d give it 10 out of 10 . It’s a just a nice looking Truggy , HPI did really good with it .

The 3.5 buggy’s big brother!!! In my opinion you get a much more powerful engine that’s from a lot more platforms!! And has been around much longer!! The differentials are of super good quality as is with every Hpi product! Get to know the idle screw being set day to day (takes 5-10 minutes) and then adjust the low speed next. Starting more turned out and turning in 1/4 turn at a time! Easy peesy lemon squeezy! Counting down the moments till I go out again to run!

What reviewers say

Reviewers praise the truck's engine power, tunability, steering and handling, and the robustness of the drivetrain and differentials. Several note that the trucks are easy to maintain and adjust. The main recurring problem is electronics: multiple reviewers report a steering or throttle servo failing early, including one dead on arrival, and one reviewer describes a transmitter that glitches. One reviewer reports a poor idle, soft stock springs, leaking shocks, flexible rear suspension blocks and weak parts support, and advises buying a used race kit instead. Opinions are sharply divided, ranging from full recommendation to strong dissatisfaction.

  • + Powerful engine
  • + Good steering and handling
  • + Robust drivetrain and differentials
  • + Easy to tune and adjust
  • − Steering or throttle servo failures
  • − Transmitter glitches
  • − Poor idle and sloppy front end
  • − Weak parts support
