I've purchased several, at least 10. The first 3 were like the one shown in the picture, and didn't even include +- indicators. Later orders the fans came +- indicators, and even later orders even having the leads soldered on. The last time I raced I threw out 4, after repeatadly switching them out as one would work, then stop working during a run. It was then I realized that it wasn't shorted or bad leads, it was something to do with the circuit board. Putting a little pressure on the circuit board would cause the fan to start running, like a car's throttle pedal. I've tried many brands of fans, and these are better than many other brands (at least they would last a while and not lock up the first run or first day). But my search will now continue as that became unbearingly frustrating and of all the worst fans I've had none have ever developed that issue. Especially 4 fans which all ended up having the same testable issue.

It may be a perfect fan, but I looked at the plug and didn't see a polarity. I should have seen the polarity was on the fan terminals and I trace the wires. My bad! I'm sure it would have worked fine if plugged in correctly. The plug needs polarity on it! It will melt if you plug it in backwards!!!!!

The fan stopped working after 3 minutes of practice time and 2 heats, you do the math. Yeah! equals no main.

What reviewers say

Four verified owners rated this 30mm brushless cooling fan 1 to 3 out of 5. Reviewers report early failures: one fan stopped mid-run and was traced to a fault on the circuit board that responded to pressure, another quit after about three minutes of use, and one came apart in a minor crash. Reviewers also note that some earlier units lacked polarity markings and the connector had no polarity indicator, with one reviewer warning that reversed connection could melt the plug. One reviewer said the fan was better than many other brands they had tried and would last a while. Reviewers mention a range of production versions, including units without markings and units with leads already soldered.

  • + Lasts longer than some other brands, per one reviewer
  • − Circuit board failures causing intermittent stops
  • − Fan stopped after short use
  • − Housing came apart in a minor crash
  • − Plug lacks polarity markings, risk of reverse connection
