I've run these on a relatively loamy track that goes between wet and tacky to dry and loose. They work incredibly well in both conditions with great side bite and even better forward bite. I always ran Step Pins before and won't be going back.
these tires work very well at my track.loose and hardpack. very grippy.
Really good tires. I ran these on my TLR 22.2 Truggy. My track has 2 outside, an oval and a bigger track with jumps and hairpin turns. On the oval with hard packed and a little loose dirt, they grip like the truck is on rails!! But, wish they had the option of medium. Because they wore out in less than 1 hour of run time. On the big track, it's hard packed, but has more loose dirt on top. They don't grip at all. It's like running on Ice. Overall good tires.
Going to have to agree with the first review.. these tires are great for loose loamy conditions, and still can hang fine when the track dries out. if there is a hard base with a light dusting of loose stuff on top, there are probably better tire options. But overall you can use these over a pretty wide spectrum with good results. they really shine when things are on the loose and loamy side. they don't load up when things get wet. green compound is soft and sticky but the reinforced pins won't roll over when you need them. great tire can't wrong on this one.
Reviewers generally rate these green-compound 2.2" truck tires highly, especially on loose, loamy dirt where they are described as grippy with strong side and forward bite. They are said to hold up reasonably as tracks dry out and to resist loading up in wet conditions. One reviewer found them excellent on a hard-packed oval with a little loose dirt but reported poor grip on a hard-packed track with more loose surface debris, and noted rapid wear after under an hour of running and a wish for a medium compound option. Another reviewer noted that hard base with light loose dusting may suit other tires better. Reviews are few, and one review is for a variant listed without the colour.
- + Strong grip on loose loamy dirt
- + Good side and forward bite
- + Works across wet to dry conditions
- + Resists loading up when wet
- − Poor grip on hard pack with loose top layer
- − Wears quickly on some tracks
- − No medium compound option offered
- − Less suited to hard base with light loose dust
