Nice quality from JC however as stated these wheels out of the bag will NOT fit the RC10 classic, 40th, Halsey or any of the 10 platforms that use the 3/16 axles without modifying the crosspin section of the wheel to clear the taper. While easily done (only need a 1/4 drill bit and drill to the bottom edge of the crosspin section)this is a minor inconvenience to me or others who are familiar with tools but those who are new or not familiar with doing mods will find this a problem. JC needs to reevaluate the design of this wheel, other than that its a great wheel and really makes my Team car pop out!
As the product description says, these fit the 3/16 inch axles. These will not fit the 1/4 inch axles that come with the RC10 classic. If you are skilled with tools, it is possible to enlarge the area so they fit 1/4 inch axles. However, I wouldn't recommend it. These are good quality wheels with a reinforced wall around the pin slots. These also have eight reinforcing ribs and pre-drilled vent holes.
Maybe I’m missing something but these do not fit my 40th anniversary rc10. There is no bore in the cross for the axle to recess into. Because of this the cross pin hasn’t got a chance to engage with the cross in the wheel. The bag is already open and gone in the trash. I’m going to try to modify the wheels and see if I can get them to fit properly. If you compare them to the 1.7’s the interface looks very different. The 1.7’s fit great.
Reviewers agree the wheels are good quality, with reinforced pin slots, eight ribs and pre-drilled vent holes, and that they look good on a Team car. The main recurring problem is fit: the wheels are designed for 3/16 inch axles and reviewers report they do not fit RC10 Classic or 40th Anniversary models with 1/4 inch axles out of the bag. The crosspin section lacks a bore to recess the axle, so the pin cannot engage. Reviewers who fit them say modification is possible with a 1/4 inch drill bit, but one notes this may be a problem for less experienced builders and one reviewer recommends against it. Two reviews are from verified owners and one is unverified; all three refer to the same yellow four-pack variant.
