Absolutely unusable the tolerances are so poor the amount of slop in these things really is unbelievable.
Looks nice but way too much slop. No instructions, so I thought that I had assembled incorrectly - in the end, the tolerances are just way off. Post diameter: 0.245” Bearing ID: 0.250” Bearing OD: 0.375” Bellcrank Bore ID: 0.376” One of the bearings simply falls out of the bore if I invert the assembly. I’ll keep using my vintage MIP nylon ball-raced bellcranks instead.
They look awesome and work as intended, but do not include the necessary screws to convert from factory posts. I found 8-32 x 1/2 screws worked perfectly to complete the installation. I was a little disappointed these did not tighten up the steering more for the rere RC10T, but that is a design flaw of the vehicle and not these parts which are super tight.
It's great to see that Jconcepts and other companies are making these aftermarket upgraded vintage parts and bringing the vintage racing back. I got these for my rc10 buggy and they were great, except for no lower screws included and no instructions, but you just have to make sure the top nut goes inside the bottom spacer the correct way so there is no up and down slop. But these for my rc10T came with the holes drilled in both arms, but no threads in the right side arm. Good thing I had the 4-40 tap in my garage so I just tapped the holes myself. But also no instructions and no lower screws included makes me give these a low score, but after you get through all this they work great and look great.
Threaded for SAE and does not include the mounting hardware or instruction sheet.
Reviewers agree the bellcranks look good but are frequently criticised for fit and missing parts. Several report excessive slop, with one citing bearing bore tolerances that let a bearing fall out when the assembly is inverted. Mounting hardware and instructions are absent in multiple reviews; one reviewer used 8-32 x 1/2 screws to convert from factory posts, and another tapped threads in one arm themselves. Opinions diverge on performance: one reviewer found the parts work as intended and very tight, while others found them unusable or preferred alternatives. One reviewer noted the thread size issue on the right arm of the RC10T. Feedback on the vintage styling is generally positive.
