About the Reactor Stage 2 "Wolf" Classic Edition
Traditional 10.75" Wheelbase Performance
The 10.75" carbon fiber chassis delivers the tried-and-true retro monster truck length, accepting a wide assortment of existing body shells while providing sharp front-wheel steering response. Its shorter wheelbase turns extremely well, excels in tight 180-degree corners, and offers predictable handling that performs consistently from track to track.
Competition-Inspired Retro Platform
The Reactor Stage 2 "Wolf" Classic Edition is a true 1:10 competition-inspired retro monster truck kit built for straight-line car crushing, U-turn layouts, Chicago-style racing, and figure-8 tracks. It blends race-focused engineering with scale realism, giving drivers a versatile platform to recreate iconic builds from past or present.
Premium Construction & Components
Extremely lightweight and rigid carbon fiber chassis plates form the backbone of the truck, paired with all-aluminum oil-filled shocks for smooth damping. The dual-shock leaf-spring suspension with solid straight axles mirrors real 1:1 monster trucks, while anodized aluminum hub carriers, suspension links, shackles, and hex adapters add strength and durability.
Dual Motor on Axle Drive
The innovative dual motors on axle system delivers impressive torque and smooth power delivery directly to the drivetrain. This layout improves traction and responsiveness while maintaining the controlled driving characteristics that make retro monster truck racing and technical driving so rewarding.
Balanced Power And Versatility
Designed for control rather than reckless speed, the Classic Edition performs exceptionally with recommended 27T brushed motors while still supporting brushless systems if desired. It's equally at home on a backyard course, natural terrain, or organized racing circuit, making it a dependable, skill-building 4x4 platform ready whenever you are.

Similar to the reviews on the 13” wheelbase kit, I love the truck but this was a needlessly complicated build. PROS - Presentation. I love that it comes with a history explaining the history of JC and this truck. Quality. You can tell a lot of thought went into this kit. Definitely not my old Lunchbox. Realism and options for tires and bodies. Simply this thing just looks cool. Cons - You realize 5 minutes in that this is going to be a complicated build as you are putting together a diff with parts that feel like they were made for an RC28 instead of a monster truck. The manual doesn’t match was is in the box and you have to know tricks like using grease to hold tiny parts in place for assembly or you will be chasing tiny washers around your workbench. Manual and order of build. The manual leaves you guessing way too often. Not as detailed as it needs to be with a truck so loaded with newly designed components. The order of the bags is frustrating. Bag C has 7 bags in it which one do you have to open? All of them. The first step has a couple of parts from all bags. So you have a thousand parts in the bench then halfway through C the manual has you opening bag H with another thousand parts to open… how did I jump from C to H? I have been in this hobby for nearly 40 years and love J Concepts and their passion for the hobby. I really hope they redo the manual for this truck and if possible rebag the kits so that you open a bag and build it. In the meantime have a big work area and maybe several bowls to dump parts in. After the headache of building I am really looking forward to running this truck!
It's a beautiful masterpiece Well worth the price The entire kit is Quality Thanks Jconcepts
It is a great chassis, but you gotta n put on your big boy pants.Because this build is a wild ride,You're all over the place a little frustrating, but if you take your time maybe watch a video by now they're out i bet. But after you're done, it's an amazing truck. Mine looks sick. ??
Reviewers generally praise the Reactor Stage 2 Wolf Classic kit's appearance, presentation, and build quality, with one describing it as a strong-looking truck. Two of three reviews are 5/5 and one is 3/5. The main recurring issue is build complexity: the 3/5 reviewer found it needlessly complicated, citing differential parts that seemed designed for a different class of car and a manual that does not match the parts in the box, with tricks such as using grease to hold small parts needed. A 5/5 reviewer described the build as a wild ride that is frustrating but rewarding if taken slowly, and suggested watching a video. Reviews mention the Classic variant specifically. Sample size is small.
- + Attractive, realistic appearance
- + Presentation and included history
- + Overall build quality
- + Tire and body options
- − Complicated build
- − Manual does not match parts
- − Differential parts feel mismatched to monster truck
- − Requires patience and outside video help
