About this part
Koswork 10th and 8th Scale Off-Road Shock Pump
The Koswork Off-Road 8.4V DC Vacuum Air Removal Pump has been designed to be a must have setup tool. Having air in your shocks or differential can affect how they perform. Having air in your shocks can show up as being stiff in certain places to the shock expanding on its own. Having too much air in your differential can lead to premature wear or even a change in the way the differential feels. Using this air removal tool will allow you to have a blank slate ensuring that your shocks and differential work the way you intend them to.

It worked great for 3 sets of shocks I’m 100% sold on using a vacuum pump now. Went to do another set and it won’t turn on. The switch feels pretty janky. I plan to fix it or use the parts and build my own when I can find the time. Disappointing for sure.
I was hoping this would be a more reasonably priced alternative to the Hudy Air Vac but unfortunately it is not. This thing is garbage. I could not get it to pull a sufficient vacuum no matter what I did. I even went so far as to shake a bottle of my 40wt oil to force air bubbles into it and then put in this device to see if it would pull the air bubbles out. It failed miserably. I'll just have to stick with my Tamiya hand operated vacuum.
Works exactly as advertised, and for less money than the other guys' offerings. I don't have a baseline to compare this against, as this is the only pump that I've used; but it gets the air out of my shocks. It was trivial to assemble. Only gripe is that the included banana plugs are 4mm instead of 5mm; but it really doesn't make a difference, as you only need to run the motor for 45 seconds at a time, anyways.
Fits my 1/8 scale buggy shocks just fine. Make sure you get the taller one.
Doesn’t fit 1/8 shocks (Aarma Typhon 6s v5). You simply won’t be able to put the plexiglass top on, unless you remove the springs adjustment collars, which if you have to do this much work might as well spend that time pouring the oil more carefully and gently pumping the shocks manually. I was really bummed out not to be able to use it but in the end I didn’t need it and shocks are done. P.s. wished I could add a review photo here.
Reviewers are split on this vacuum pump for RC shock air removal. Three reviewers rate it 5/5, citing effective air removal for 1/10 and 1/8 shocks, easy assembly, and a lower price than competing pumps. Two reviewers rate it 1/5 or 2/5: one reports failure to pull sufficient vacuum even on oil with deliberately introduced bubbles, and another reports the plexiglass top does not fit 1/8 shocks such as the Aarma Typhon 6s v5 unless spring adjustment collars are removed. One reviewer reports the pump worked for several shock sets before failing to power on, describing the switch as flimsy. One reviewer notes the included banana plugs are 4mm rather than 5mm, which they considered inconsequential. Reported fit and performance appear to depend on shock type and use.

- − Failed to pull adequate vacuum for one user
- − Plexiglass top does not fit some 1/8 shocks
- − Switch feels flimsy; unit stopped powering on after several uses
- − Includes 4mm banana plugs instead of 5mm
