About the Blizzard 2.0
Chassis
Built on a durable, easy-to-maintain box structure, the Blizzard 2.0 features a simple chain-drive system that delivers power directly to its heavy-duty belted tracks. Every wheel is equipped with independent suspension, allowing the vehicle to maintain constant ground contact and claw through deep snow or jagged rocks that would easily high-center a wheeled rig.
Electronics
The heart of the Blizzard consists of twin 370 brushed motors paired with dual ESCs, providing enough independent torque to perform 360-degree pivot turns on the spot. This setup is managed by a 2.4GHz Syncro KT-431S 4-channel radio system, which includes a high-torque waterproof servo to give you precise, remote control over the front plow blade.

Okay. Where to begin? I’ve only ever bought bashers and street cars because I have this obsession with speed. Never have I owned anything from Kyosho, but this changed my mind on all those fronts. This thing is not fast, and it’s very niche. It looks super cool, and operates decent for a snow cat through the grass. I like that the tracks move as two different entities, and the plow feature is kinda cool. I can foresee the metal tracks being a good upgrade at some point. The plastic ones keep it light and cheap but they are definitely one of the week points. All-in-all glad I bought this, just need some snow now!
Lots of fun. It’s not a speed demon, but it works really well at what it’s designed for. I run it around in the snow and can plow or just make my bank look like a ski run. I also purchased the metal tracks that really add some weight and traction. They required no adjustments to install. Very fun toy. Kids will enjoy it. Adults do too. I did plow my sidewalk while sitting in my office. Not fast, but again, FUN!!
I love it! It takes a little getting used to because the blade raises and lowers off the right stick and us old farts have a hard time keeping the throttle for the right track set to match the left and working the blade at the same time. But you want something different for some winter fun this can't be beat!
All three reviewers are verified owners who rate the Kyosho Blizzard 2.0 1/12 Scale ReadySet snow cat 5/5 and describe it as fun and well suited to its design rather than speed. Reviewers praise its look, the independently moving tracks, and the plow feature, and one notes it handles grass and sidewalk clearing. The plastic tracks are called a weak point, with metal track upgrades mentioned as improvements that add weight and traction. One reviewer finds the blade controls, which sit on the right stick, hard to coordinate with track throttle at first. Reviews are few and all positive, so the picture is limited.
- + Fun to run and plow
- + Tracks move independently
- + Looks cool
- + Handles grass and snow reasonably well
- − Not fast
- − Plastic tracks are a weak point
- − Blade and track controls take practice to coordinate
