The 240 in rally trim is exceptionally fun and gorgeous with its looks and details. While it’s certainly good to run as is out of the box, you can definitely dial it in more adding some higher viscosity shock oil and I added the lightest sway bars front and back on mine. Stock motor has plenty of power and speed, enough that I’ve dialed the speed down some to keep the car more under control and scale like in action. Radio lets you dial in trim and the amounts of steering, throttle and reverse/brake. With the speed cut back to what is useable where I’m running it, the 550 motor is staying nice and cool and that is with the cover in place on the chassis to keep things out of the inside where all the electronics are. I did add some Velcro to the sides of the chassis and the clear cover to help seal it up and keep dirt and water out. It’s quite effective that way. I also have the Subaru WRC Fazer in rally trim and setup and have it set up with medium stiffness sway bars. Both cars run the same with the same chassis although the Subaru wheeelbase is 200mm wide and the 240 is 190mm. I got the 240 more for off-road running because its body doesn’t go below the bottom of the chassis. It doesn’t bang or hang on things. The Subaru body extends a bit below the chassis and will hit things occasionally. These rally cars set up with higher ground clearance really are a good thing for those with less than smooth surfaces to run on. RTR versions get you going in minutes and are a great value for what they are.
Absolutely beautiful and a LOT of fun! The way the body rolls when you drive around adds a lot of character to the experience. Love this one!!!
What a great addition to my collection ! The handling is great out the box I have purchased many ready to run vehicles and I had to adjust many settings to get them to drive correctly. Not this one. The way the suspension moves is very realistic. I have ran it on 3s as well and yes the motor gets hot but it handles it. I would recommend 2s as 3s is fun but the handling suffers. The body itself is almost too nice to run. I love how the stock tires make a actual screeching sound when you slide around. I have not had any other rc tire do that !! The included Lexan dust cover helps keep bigger rocks and pebbles out of the chassis but not dust. **Tip** to keep dust out of the inside of the chassis- Put a small piece of painters tape on the side of the Lexan cover (start by the Velcro battery strap) and run it under the chassis and secure it on the other side. It allows a pretty tight seal and nothing gets in. Kyosho knocked it out the park with this release ! I did add the aluminum drive shaft and changed the pinion to a 36 tooth. Slightly higher top speed on stock motor and still has plenty of torque.
Awesome car. Drives great and is incredibly durable. Details on the body are fantastic. My friends with tt02’s all wish they got this instead. It’s worth the buy!
I'm very strong car everything on this car is nice
Five reviewers, all rating the car 5/5, describe the Kyosho EP Fazer Mk2 FZ02-R 1971 Datsun 240Z Rally ReadySet (Red). Reviewers agree the body looks detailed and handles well out of the box, with a realistic suspension and a fun, body-roll driving feel. The stock 550 motor is described as powerful; one owner reduced speed for control, and another noted it runs hot on 3S while handling suffers, recommending 2S. Owners mention the stock tires squeal when sliding, and the included Lexan dust cover keeps out larger debris but not fine dust. One reviewer suggested higher-viscosity shock oil and lighter sway bars for further tuning. Durability is praised by one reviewer. Review volume is small and all reviews are positive.
