About the Fazer D2 86 GT Tuned Drift Car
Advanced Electronics for Smooth Drifting
The Fazer D2 comes equipped with cutting-edge electronics that elevate its drift performance. A meticulously designed KRG-331D receiver with a built-in gyro unit ensures precise control over steering and throttle, allowing for effortless drifting. The 60A Kyosho Speed House ESC provides three driving modes including forward, brake, and reverse, while the high-performance KS4072-06W servo works in harmony with the gyro for optimal counter-steer control. Completing the setup is a powerful G22 brushed 540 motor, all mounted to optimize weight distribution for improved stability.
Adjustable Drift Chassis
Kyosho's carefully designed drift chassis provides unmatched adjustability and performance. The resin main chassis is divided into front and rear sections, allowing users to modify the wheelbase from 240mm to 274mm. This adaptability ensures compatibility with a variety of body types. The rear drive unit features a rigid spool axle without a differential, enhancing smooth drifting. Adjustable suspension settings, including caster angle and roll center, let users fine-tune handling to their preference.
Ultra-Realistic Scale Body
Faithful to the iconic Toyota 86 GT Tuned, the ultra-scale body on the Fazer D2 showcases meticulous attention to detail. Molded side mirrors and detailed rear spoiler create a visually stunning model. Kyosho's innovative concealed body mounts eliminate protruding posts, preserving the sleek, authentic appearance. The result is a breathtaking display-quality model with high-performance capabilities!

This car shouldn't be compared really to the Yokomo or the MST drift cars in my opinion, and more a competitor to the Traxxas 4Tec Drift. It is designed and intended for an absolute beginner to start out and learn how to drive RWD drift cars. The car is also ideal for those who don't have access to a smooth drift track or garage floor and have to drive on carpet, asphalt, or outdoor concrete. Pros: - The body is absolutely gorgeous with light buckets ready to go if you want to add lights. - The car is very easy to learn to drive and is perfect for a beginner learning the basics of RWD drifting. - The chassis setup and included tire compound is designed to be driven on hard asphalt, concrete, or carpet; basically anyone who doesn't have access to a nice P-tile indoor track. This makes the car a lot more accessible for most people. - The stock electronics work well for a beginner and are smooth. Cons: - The servo is slow, which makes it nice since it keeps the car from being too twitchy for a beginner, but once you get a hang driving, you will wish it had a slightly faster servo. - The body mount system is relatively easy to use, but some people with thicker fingers may find it annoying. The mounts are also very gummy which is good for durability but it can't just be snapped in with one hand like the Traxxas clipless system. - The throttle control on the gyro should be turned off pretty much immediately. It does not seem to work very well and makes the user develop bad habits when driving.,
This was my first 2wd drift car and I am enjoying it more than my 4wd drift car. It has more control and better stability. The turning radius is far more than what the 4wd drift cars has to offer, giving this 2wd car a more realistic drift control. Great car and best bang for the bucks! If you're into RC drifting and want the scaled looks, along with great performance, the Kyosho Fazer FZD2 is a great choice.
Needs way too much work to get it to drift on a drift track. I spent tons of money on it. Still not happy with it.
Super happy with the car worth every penny. Also thanks to Amain got it for a great price. Highly recommend my collection keeps getting bigger.
Another classic from my favortie manaufacture Kyosho! High quality and detailed
Reviewers generally rate the Kyosho Fazer FZD2 Toyota 86 highly, with four of five reviews giving five stars. Recurring praise covers the detailed body, ease of driving for beginners, and the 2WD setup, with one reviewer finding it more controllable and stable than their 4WD drift car. One reviewer describes it as aimed at beginners learning RWD drifting on carpet, asphalt or concrete rather than smooth drift tracks, and compares it to the Traxxas 4Tec Drift rather than higher-end drift cars. The single one-star review reports that the car needed considerable work before it would drift on a drift track and that the buyer remained dissatisfied. Reviews are few and mostly brief, so the picture is limited.
- + Detailed, attractive body
- + Easy to learn for beginners
- + Good control and stability
- + Good value for the price
- − Needs substantial setup to drift on a drift track
- − Mixed satisfaction from one buyer
