So here’s my gripe with these. I never had wheels falling off with the plastic wheel shafts — sure, the plastic shafts wore out quickly, and that’s on me for not checking my bearings. But as soon as I switched to the Universal Aluminum Swing Shafts, I started losing wheels constantly. You absolutely have to use Loctite, and even then it’s not guaranteed. Because the wheels like to pop off, you end up stacking flat washers and lock washers for insurance — but then the aluminum threads strip out in the shaft. Now you’re stuck spending $45 to replace a single stripped shaft. These things are a headache. Don’t waste your time. I see zero benefit to using these.

I haven't really had a problem with the swing shaft in fact the only time I had a problem with them was when I got into a wreck with the neighbor it was a pretty hard impact broke a rear lower control arm with the swing shaft with the amount of power I'm running in that car I'm surprised they hold up I mean when you put a hobbywing easy run 4000 KV motor four a short Course Truck into a 1/10 scale on Road touring car like that especially with a 11.1 volt lipo battery that thing going to move if I wouldn't of switched out the dog bones I'm pretty sure I would have broke at least three or four of them plastic dogbones by now i was watching a video somebody had a purple Hellcat with stock plastic dog bones in the back and it snapped it right into two when it picked up speed and they were moving the car was really fast I've ran mine at maxed out speed and didn't break nothing on it and i never thought I'd own a RC car that can go over 50 mph especially a 1:10 scale i have my up and down Sometimes It's tricky to find parts but it's a fun car i think with what i done so far I'm seeing improvements when I can leave tire tread on the road only in start punch 3 literally I gone up to a quarter of the throttle and and then once the motor winds up a bit then I open it all the way to Full Throttle the trick is not the hit the throttle quick right away and just ease into it open it up easy you don't want to mash the throttle down right away and this is really crazy for an electric car or what the power comes on quick when I can sit there with the car rolling and tap the throttle and break the tires loose with it it's pretty fast and if not at a dead stop it's usually moving even when I go hit the throttle a little more and it will still break the tires loose let it wind up a little and then I hit Full Throttle and it well peel tires off I think I'm finally straightening it out.

For the price I was expecting a very solid product.. I’ve broken one of these (pin came out) and was very disappointed and no choice but to buy another set as PIN seems proprietary.. For the price it’s trash, they need to lower by $20 bux

What reviewers say

Reviewers report mixed experiences with this swing shaft set. One verified owner describes repeated wheel loss despite Loctite, stacked washers, and thread stripping in the aluminum shafts, judging them not worth the cost. A second reviewer reports no problems in normal use, with failure only after a hard crash that broke a lower control arm in a high-power setup. A third verified owner reports a pin coming out and finds the price high, noting the pin appears proprietary. Reviews are few and vary in detail, so the overall picture is limited.

  • + No problems reported in normal use
  • + Held up in a high-power setup until a hard crash
  • − Wheels come loose despite thread locker
  • − Aluminum threads can strip, replacement costs high
  • − Pin came out during use
  • − Price seen as high for the product
