About the Mad Wagon VE Kit
Pre-assembled Components
Despite being an unassembled kit, the KB10W Mad Wagon VE simplifies the assembly process by pre-building the most complex parts. The front, center, and rear gearboxes come pre-assembled and ensure that even beginners can complete the kit without much hassle. This thoughtful inclusion significantly reduces assembly time and allows users to focus on understanding and enjoying the vehicle.
Upgraded Standard Parts
The kit version of the Mad Wagon VE includes numerous parts that were previously only available as optional upgrades. This feature ensures that users get a highly-tuned model right out of the box, offering excellent value for money. Standard inclusions such as the aluminum oil shocks, machined steel bevel and ring gears, and high-grip tires enhance the truck's performance and durability, making it a superior choice for both entry-level and competition-grade enthusiasts.

This is my first RC kit and I loved the process. I wish I got it at the black Friday price instead of regular price, but them the breaks. Otherwise an amazing product from Kyosho.
The Mad Wagon is a very nice kit. The quality of the parts is excellent. The build was enjoyable from start to finish. If you are building this kit, definitely use thread lock on the pre-install center drive cups on the front and rear diffs and tighten (check) the slipper clutch (mine was way to loose). I also increased the front shock oil viscosity from 400 to 500cst (I think). For electronics I used a Hobbywing 10BL120 ESC (fit perfectly) the stock Kyosho brushless motor (a take off from Ebay), a Dumborc receiver (Dumborc transmitter is the DDF-350) and a 9imod 55kg HV servo. I painted the shell in Tamiya Gunmetal gray and did a custom decal livery using the supplied decals and decals from the Turbo Scorpion and Javelin. I was going for a vintage "race support vehicle" look. After taking a month of admiring the car a doing easy runs as a shakedown, this car drives fantastic. The handling is surprisingly excellent for a "Basher". It is definitely a 3s car, however, it is still a blast on a decent 2s battery. Mine will handle 4s (haven't tried it yet). It also jumps very well The reality is that this kit has such a great price point at under $300. The KB10 chassis is excellent, a kit version that has the look of the original Kyosho beetle, would sell very well. Especially to the 80's kid that has grown up. I have been in the hobby since 1987. 2025 is the first time I built a Kyosho, the Turbo Scorpion was it. I have since built a Javelin, a Dune Master SB, and now the Mad Wagon. I still love my Tamiya's too.
It is built like a tank and the chassis i used in a custom build that came out excellent . Easy to build with robust 1/8 scale components that i think will be bullet proof. Chassis is a stout aluminum with some machining to lighten it up . YES i do recommend this to anyone with a budget that just wants to bash and have fun without breaking the bank .
All three reviewers rate the Kyosho KB10W Mad Wagon VE kit 5/5 and describe the build as enjoyable and straightforward. Reviewers praise the quality of the parts, the sturdy aluminium chassis, and its suitability for bashing. One reviewer notes that the centre drive cups on the front and rear diffs should be secured with thread lock and that the slipper clutch was loose out of the box and needed tightening. Another reviewer changed the front shock oil and fitted a third-party brushless ESC, motor, receiver and servo, reporting that the ESC fit well. One reviewer said they would have preferred a sale price. Reviews are few and mostly from owners who modified the kit, so confidence is moderate.

- + High-quality parts
- + Sturdy aluminium chassis
- + Good value for bashing
- − Diff centre drive cups need thread lock
- − Slipper clutch loose out of box
- − Price felt high to one buyer
