Advanced AWD Evolution for MINI-Z Performance

The Kyosho MA-030 EVO2 represents a major step forward in the MINI-Z AWD series, blending all-wheel-drive traction with sensor-controlled brushless technology. Designed to elevate both high-speed grip and precision drifting, it brings smooth, consistent power delivery to the compact platform. The introduction of the sensored brushless motor system, previously exclusive to the RWD EVO2, transforms the AWD driving experience with greater low-speed response and refined throttle control.

About the MA-030 EVO2

Refined Electronics and Transmitter Flexibility

A major highlight of the MA-030 EVO2 is its modular electronic layout, which separates the ESC and receiver for easier upgrades and wider transmitter compatibility. Drivers can use transmitters from leading brands, making it easier to integrate into existing setups. Internal processing has also been enhanced with a dedicated CPU, resulting in sharper, more responsive steering and more stable handling across various surfaces.

Improved Design and Expanded Compatibility

This chassis has been thoughtfully reworked to increase its compatibility with a wider range of body shells, thanks to a redesigned motor cover. The adjustable wheelbase supports both standard and long-length setups, providing flexibility for scale looks or racing applications. It also features proven components, such as the VCS front suspension and rear strut setup, which strike a balance between ease of maintenance and effective performance tuning.

Built for Tuning and Upgrade Potential

Out of the box, the chassis includes a sensored brushless motor and a full ball-bearing drivetrain for maximum efficiency. Gear and wheelbase options, along with compatibility with MA-03F upgrade parts, give enthusiasts ample opportunity to fine-tune their setups. Whether targeting smoother grip racing or dialing in for AWD drift, the EVO2 platform is designed to adapt, evolve, and outperform expectations in a wide range of MINI-Z applications.

Car is great. Very quick. Make sure you order awd rims. I made the mistake of ordering a body that came with rwd rims and had to wait for another order of the correct ones. Also make sure you order a receiver it does not come with. If you are reading this you already know Amain is the place to get everything you need and at the right price with quick shipping. They are the best.

I have like 7 of the other mini-z cars but this was my first Evo. Can't say it has been a good experience so far. Right out of the box the chassis had a rattle which was concerning. I converted it to the L wheelbase so it worked with my bodies, added the receiver, and paired it with my radio. The steering was being weird. Noticed one of the front wheels suspension was binding terribly. You could freeze it at any point in the suspension travel. Took it apart and found out the swing shaft was binding in the diff cup. The pins on the dog bone side are too large. Testing with the 'long' version of the swing shaft in the spare parts bag didn't bind like this. I shave down the pins with a razor blade and it's better but not great. Reassemble. The steering is not returning to center after turning. Tear it down again. The servo saver has a huge amount of play in it. Find half of an e-clip during tear down. Rattle located. That e-clip holds the spring on the servo saver. There is no spring tension. Cause of the steering issues identified. Never found the other half of the e-clip. Kyosho doesn't list the clip by itself. The entire servo saver is one part number(MD305B), amain doesn't stock it at all. Measure out the shaft on the server saver and have some e-clips and new swing shafts on order. So another $25-30 to fix a brand new chassis. It's odd that the cheaper cars have all been perfect right out of the box. I'm sure it will be fine once I get all the parts on it working as they should.
