Mine haven’t leaked yet, a little pricy but a direct fit and light years above the bouncy stock shocks.

Very nice looking shocks but all 4 of the shocks leak. Actually they work better for rock crawling with no oil in them.

Nice shocks except that one is useless and doesn’t hold oil because of a machining defect in one shock cap. Contacted Kyosho with pictures and still am waiting to see if they ever get back to me. Figured I just better eat the loss of $75.

What reviewers say

Three reviews of the Kyosho Mini-Z MX-01 Aluminum Oil Shock Set (Red) (4), with mixed views. One reviewer, not marked as verified, found the shocks a direct fit and a clear upgrade over the stock units, though they called them somewhat pricey. Two verified owners reported leaking. One said all four shocks leaked and that they performed better without oil; the other said one shock cap had a machining defect that stopped it holding oil, and that the manufacturer had not responded to their contact about it. Reviewers agree the shocks look good. The main recurring issue is oil leakage, and the sample is small.

  • + Direct fit for the MX-01
  • + Clear upgrade over stock shocks
  • + Looks good
  • − Oil leaks in reported units
  • − Machining defect in one shock cap
