Was on the site browsing for parts and came across this buggy, 10th scale 2wd and was rtr for 100 bucks! The looks on it is what drew me in but once it got here and I ran it I fell in love with it! Top speed that I got was 22 on a 2s lipo pack. But going brushless on this would make it perfect. Suspension was nice a plush but a tad bouncy for my taste on the rear so I went a little thicker on the rear shock oil. Most the reviews I see on this buggy are talking about how bad the spur gear quality is and how noisy the buggy is but they must have fixed it because mine runs and sounds quiet. Would highly recommend for a beginner or someone that’s been in the hobby for a while like me that loves cheap bashers ????? thanks

For $99. this car is exceptional. Full parts replacement. Its got old school (VW) looks. Good chassis, good links. The shocks are good. I put 90 wt in all 4. No leaks. There are of course compromise on a car for $99. One is pinion/spur. Replace w/ 48p steel pinion. Took slightly larger drill bit to enlarge motor holes, 2 back away from tight lash. Removed "flash" from molded spur gear( wire wheel- carefully !)finally, greased spur w synthetic grease ( pool, safe for plastic/o-rings). I don't recommend you use wire wheel on spur or drill holes if you are not familiar with tools- u will void your warranty. Wheels and tires= w/o removing tires, I super glued each tire bead to beadlock ring( both sides of wheel) to prevent them from coming apart. This car is great, no matter any compromises. You can easily make this faster, but why? If so, you again may cause transmission problems. A great car for 1rst. timers( kids) or experienced. Very good electronics too. Im thinking of buying another. Its real cool and quite dependable. After a few runs, it got more quiet.

I gave it 4 stars because there are a few things that could be better, but ultimately nothing you could really complain about given the price. The gearbox makes some extra noise, but the car runs good. Perfect entry level car, great extra car to have on hand to lend to a friend and get them into rc. Top speed out of the box about 18mph. Fun platform with an old school 2wd drive buggy kind feel. Handles well in real dirt, good traction with the rear mounted motor. Mine has spent a lot of time bashing trails through the woods walking the dog.

What reviewers say

Six verified owners rated this yellow 1/10 2wd buggy 4 to 5 stars, with reviewers repeatedly calling it good value for a beginner or entry-level RC car at roughly $99 ready-to-run. Reviewers praise its looks, handling in dirt, suspension feel and durability with younger drivers. Reported top speeds are about 18 to 22 mph on a 2S LiPo. Noise and spur gear quality were raised; one reviewer found the gearbox noisy, while another said the spur gear was a known weak point and needed modification, and a third reported a quiet, working unit. One reviewer recommends a steel pinion, a 48 pitch upgrade, and removing molding flash. Opinions on the included parts are mixed, but overall satisfaction is high.

  • + Good value at about $99 ready-to-run
  • + Handles well in dirt with good rear traction
  • + Good suspension feel for beginners
  • + Tough enough for kids and beginners
  • − Spur gear and pinion quality concerns
  • − Gearbox noise reported
  • − Needs modification for smoothest running
