Kyosho Wave Chopper 2.0 Electric Watercraft Type 1 (Green) w/Syncro KT-231P 2.4GHz Radio, Battery & Charger
About this part
The Kyosho Wave Chopper 2.0 Type 1 Electric Personal Water Craft brings fun to the water with the revival of the Wave Chopper! Originally released in 2001, the Wave Chopper 2.0 features modern RC technology and performance. A redesigned rudder, stern tube and motor mount in the 1/6th hull, and an updated rider figure are combined with the latest RC components to take this model into the next generation.
Optimal torque from the G14L water cooled 550 class motor works perfectly with the large capacity Kyosho Speed House KA60-91W speed controller to deliver crisp acceleration and racy performance while reducing heat loss. Styrene floats provide buoyancy that make the hull unsinkable, even if it is not completely waterproof. The hull and rider are pre-assembled, so all you need to do is install four AA batteries (sold separately) into the transmitter, charge the included NiMH battery, and mount the rider figure to get this model fully ready to run.
- Kick up rudder protects both the rudder and hull from unexpected contact and delivers smooth turning performance
- Built in water intake channels water into the cooling jacket on the motor for effective cooling
- Optimal angle of the stern tube along the bottom of the hull reduces drive resistance allowing the fully submerged propeller to generate quick and smooth acceleration
- Pre-installed 550 class G14L motor is fitted with a water cooling system to prevent heat loss
- High rigidity suspended motor mount maximizes drive efficiency and easy maintenance
- 7.2V 2200mah battery and USB delte peak charger are included with the pre-assembled hull and 2.4ghz transmitter
- Fully assembled hull
- Syncro KT231P+ transmitter
- Injection molded boat stand
- Pre painted figure
- Hex wrenches 1.5 & 2.5mm
- Spanner 4.0 & 5.5mm
- Antenna tube
- 7.2V 2200 mAh Ni-MH battery and USB delta peak charger
- PVC tape for waterproofing
- (4) AA batteries for transmitter

Great handling boat and quick. Looks great, if any water comes in seal sections around the outside. Greasing the shaft will stop water coming in. Overall great boat, have had good comments about it.
First time out, ran great. Peel tape of the motor hatch and find 1/3 cup of water. Tested water cooling tubes. All good. Thought it might be coming from shaft but saw non while running it in bathtub. Just sat the thing in the bath tub and if started filling with water. The stuffing tube must not have been installed correctly and no way to get at it without tearing apart the radio compartment. Really disappointed.
Stock set up is fun but A minor impact to rider head bent shaft easily as it is solid from the flex. The motor is supported from top. With a solid shaft the upper deck is flemzy I have added billet outdrive and longer flex shaft and upgraded to brushless. Now it’s a beast and a lot more fun.
This is a fun water craft ran great on Kauai! https://youtu.be/DxaD0S_BRo4
Reviewers generally find the Wave Chopper 2.0 (Green) fun to ride, quick, and good-looking, with one reviewer calling it a good boat overall. The most recurring problem is water ingress: two reviewers report water entering through the seal areas or the motor hatch, one of whom found about a third of a cup inside after a first run and traced it to the stuffing tube or seal around the shaft. The reviewer who had this issue said it was hard to access without disassembling the radio compartment, and another suggested greasing the shaft as a fix. A separate reviewer reported that the stock solid flex shaft bent easily after a minor impact and that the upper deck felt flimsy, and upgraded parts. Overall, the sample is small and mixed on durability.
- + Quick and fun handling

- + Good performance on first runs
- − Water ingress through seals or motor hatch
- − Stock flex shaft bends easily on impact
