I have LapMonitor Transponders that I used with my Slashes and have zero problems with them. They count laps every time. When I plugged in this transponder into my MR-04 RWD Mini-Z the indicator light on it blinked very faintly, but there wasn't any registering of laps. I then changed the plug on the transponder (ph 2.0) so I could use a small LiPo and it worked just fine! I did play with the potentiometer knob on the controller with the transponder plugged into the ESC, and still nothing. So, it doesn't seem the Mini-Z ESC board puts out enough consistent voltage to run the transponder from the plug (I believe it's a JST 1.5mm plug), which is designed for the light system. As much as I like the LapMonitor system, this particular setup with the 4-pin 1.5mm plug for the Mini-Z ESC board only gets four stars because you'll have to change to plug or somehow get it to put out more voltage (program ESC?). Maybe it'll work with the EVO or EVO2, I don't know because I don't have those (yet). Do yourself a favor and just buy the O-ring terminal or the 3-Pin JST-SH Connector for your Mini-Z.
