The Ultimate MX Experience: Promoto-MX Ready to Run

The Losi Promoto-MX Ready to Run 1/4 Brushless Dirt Bike will make you feel like you belong on an MX track doing what could only be described as getting after it, brapping it up, giving it the zip zip zip! When the gate drops this Bike's Brushless powerhouse will have you shooting for the holeshot, blitzing through the whoops, and airing it out over triples!

About the RTR Promoto-MX

Suspension and Brakes

The mechanical technology is equally impressive. Losi's product development team studied full-size motorcycle suspension geometry to give the Promoto-MX the same terrain handling characteristics. A rising rate rear suspension provides superior grip and prevents bottoming out in landings. The front fork design, with an internal spring and dampener, can be tuned by changing the silicone dampening fluid and also allows ride height adjustments. An innovative front and rear wheel braking system gives the bike impressive stopping power, cutting the stopping distance in half compared to rear brake only.

Electronics

The Spektrum DX3PM transmitter and SR6300PM receiver combine with patent-pending MS6X technology for unprecedented control. Promoto-MX drivers can maintain balance at high or low speeds and over jumps and whoops, then give simple steering inputs to carve around tight berms and straighten up heading into the next rhythm section. For more aggressive driving, use the MS6X knob to increase the lean angle.

Braaped Up!

Both technologies, electronic and mechanical, are why the Promoto-MX performs better at high and low speeds than any previous R/C motorcycle. For dirt bike fans, the "feel" of the Promoto-MX will be instantly familiar. R/C car enthusiasts will discover a new way to drive that pulls you deep into the heart of the action, carving berms, throwing fat whips, skimming whoops, casing jumps, holding wheelies, and throwing roost.

Wow! This is good. Very very good. Surprisingly easy to drive. The S120 charger takes forever, so maybe consider grabbing the S150 charger and an extra 5000mah battery because you're going to want to run this thing over and over again. Also, it's pretty big and requires a good amount of space to run.

The best rc motorcycle ever created. 100% worth the wait! I pre ordered from Amain because I know they will always have my back. You can actually talk to a human who enjoys talking about RCs. If you are still undecided about the promoto mx you're missing out on the greatest RC that has came out in over 10 years. I own every RC dirtbike and streetbike even the older Thunder Tiger Nitro Ducati. The promoto mx is on another level. Even my $2500 RC racing streetbike doesn't compare. Losi hit a homerun Get yourself one, or three.

Well, it’s about time I write a review on this 1/4 scale RC Motocross/dirt bike. Awesome is all I can say after living with this RC for over a year. I’ve easily have put over 40 packs through it without a single problem. The only nit-pick I have is the front brake needed to be readjusted; simple!!! I’ve recently taken this beast out to real Las Vegas desert and let me tell you…this thing flies over the rough stuff!!! Crystal ball shows me extreme Enduro situations in her future!!! Invest in a skid plate if you go the desert route! All in all, extremely pleased with this Losi RC motorcycle!!! Problem is, (well, not really a problem), I want a second one to customize to the Max!!! Hey, I grew up racing Motocross in the 70’s, 80’s and 90’s…and I never had a ‘Works Bike’! Well, now I’ll build one myself with the Losi Pro-Moto…a ‘works Yamaha’!!! Get one…Get two!!!

Wow!! This thing is awesome. It’s pricey but it’s worth it. I’ve driven mine on grass on pavement on open field that is rough and on Sandy areas and it has outperformed my expectations in all conditions. The way it turns and how tight you can get it to turn on grass as well as pavement is fantastic. I did not expect that. It’s way easier to drive than what I was expecting too! I have done some small jumps with it but no track running so I can’t speak to its performance there but every where wells it’s is a blast. From kicking up rooster tails on the sand to riding endless wheeling on the pavement it is a blast!!! I would get it again and I look forward to upgrading it too. One thing I recommend is getting two batteries for it! It is a big investment but it’s one of the funnest RC’s that I have.

What reviewers say

Reviewers of this 1/4 scale brushless RC dirt bike (Pro-Circuit variant) overwhelmingly rate it 5/5, praising its ease of handling, realistic scale feel, strong power and wheelie performance, and fun across grass, pavement, sand and desert use. Several note that the included charger is slow, so an upgraded charger or extra batteries are suggested for longer sessions. Other points raised include its large size requiring ample space, a front brake that needed adjustment, and a battery tray that is awkward to latch with some batteries. One reviewer, who gave 3/5, reported a long delivery wait of about four months, which was not covered by the other reviews' product comments.

  • + Easy to drive and control
  • + Realistic scale feel and appearance
  • + Strong power and wheelie performance
  • + Fun across grass, pavement, and sand
  • − Slow included charger, long charge times
  • − Large size needs plenty of space
  • − Battery tray hard to close with some batteries
  • − Front brake needed adjustment
