It works great for my skill level because I am just a local racer. The price is right for what I expected to get out of it. It definitely could use some more reach because it can be tricky sometimes to find a place on the chassis that you can get a good reading. It does have some slop in it but I feel like you can manage that with just making sure you take up the slack before taking your readings. I may would look at getting and aluminum one if I had to do over again.
POS, as stated, if you're ok with +/- 2-4mm then this is for you.
Great. Works well for me for my application and it is made from good quality plastic and feels like it will last a few seasons racing.
It functions, but not without difficulty. Specifically it’s hard to be precise. The spring knob creates too much drag so it is difficult to lightly adjust to ride height without disrupting the car. I have to guess and check, which means I lose precision of my measurement. Not to mention accuracy is not perfect either.
A well-made gauge at a good price. I like how the contact pad is arched upward to clear anything that might be in the way as you try to measure the underside of the chassis. Simple and effective the way it should be.
Reviewers generally find the Losi Ride Height Gauge affordable, lightweight and easy to use, with many rating it highly for quick trackside checks. Accuracy and consistency are the main points of disagreement: several report slop in the lever mechanism, with estimates of roughly 0.7 to 4mm error, while others report no slop and steady readings. Recurring complaints include limited reach around bumpers and rounded chassis plates, a 10mm minimum measurable height, a thumb adjuster that can lose its hold over time, and stiff spring knob drag. Some reviewers say a simple fixed-step gauge is more precise. Most reviews appear to refer to the standard variant.
