Losi S900S 1/5 Scale Metal Gear Steering Servo (High Voltage)
About this part
This is a replacement Losi S900S 1/5 Scale Metal Gear Steering Servo, and is intended for use with the Losi 5IVE-T 1/5 scale truck. This is the steering servo that is included with the truck, but can also be used in the throttle servo position if you want a throttle servo with more torque or you wish to run your truck on a Li-Poly battery without a regulator. This is also an excellent servo for other large scale applications that require a high torque metal gear servo.
NOTE: Does not include servo horn or steering linkage. LOSB5900 is the stock steering servo horn and linkage used with the Losi 5IVE-T.

In response to the review by Michale Powada. They can run on 8.4V, it's the same steering servo that's in the DBXL-E, which you can set the BEC from ESC to 8.4V. I've been running it in my DBXL-E on 8.4V since day one nearly 12 months ago ;)
This Servo handles 7.4 and 8.4 volts just fine I have 3 in all my LOSI 5T’s and have not had one die yet. Most of the problems people have is not setting their endpoints and that’s what kills the servo 99% of the time
NOT high voltage. This servo is compatible only with 6 volt outputs, not 7.4 or 8.4.
Reviewers discuss whether the S900S Metal Gear Steering Servo (High Voltage) works on higher voltages. Two reviewers report running it on 7.4V and 8.4V, one stating it has run for about a year on 8.4V and another reporting three servos in use without failure. One reviewer says the servo is compatible only with 6V outputs and not 7.4V or 8.4V, which directly conflicts with the other accounts. One reviewer also notes that servo failures are usually caused by improperly set endpoints rather than voltage. The reviews therefore disagree on voltage compatibility, and the sample is small.
- + Reported to run on 7.4V and 8.4V
- + Long-term use reported without failure
- + Metal gear durability noted by owners
- − One reviewer reports it is limited to 6V
- − Conflicting voltage compatibility reports
- − Failures attributed to incorrect endpoint setup
