I got this from my LHS. Ive only run nitro for twenty years, so this would be my first ESC. However, I like that I can link this to my phone with a normal usb-c to usb-c cable, and I was able to use the settings to make the power delivery so close to a nitro vehicle that I cannot tell the difference. It has kept the motor from running over 170 degrees F in 90+ degree F weather with very hard running. I am very happy with this.
My car was built by an AE team driver. RC8B4e. I thought I would try a new brand. Stupid me, never had to return any Reedy product before in the last 5 years. Lost weeks of time on this one. Fried after 7 runs. Buy cautiously.
Second maclan esc to just sort of...die. no reason I can tell, just one day it'll stop beeping, but keep flashing the correct startup; then they die. Runs well, but certainly not better than hobbywing. Beware Maclan's warranty; a claimed 1 year but when contacted it turns out its 1 month. Used or not. Will not purchase maclan again.
Garbage! Don’t waste your time and money! They are like KFC , FRIED…?
Reviewers report sharply divided experiences with this brushless ESC. One owner praised its smooth power delivery, phone connectivity via USB-C, and temperature control under hot, hard running. Three verified owners reported failures: one unit failed after seven runs, another stopped working with no clear cause, and a third described the unit as garbage. Two of the negative reviews also raised concerns about the warranty, with one stating it was advertised as one year but was reportedly only one month. One reviewer found it runs well but not better than a competing brand. All reviews refer to the same variant.
