Equipped with a fully proportional 0.85kg plastic gear steering servo, the Microbe offers full proportional control for smooth and responsive steering. The included servo saver protects the steering components from impacts, ensuring quick reactions during tight maneuvers. Every element is designed for consistent performance and easy handling right out of the box.

Fun lil buggy. I upgraded to a 500 mah battery good run time

Joe Bon Maverick Microbe 1/24 RTR 2WD Buggy (Green)

I picked up two Maverick Microbes hoping to run them on an RCP Mini-96 track. Both cars seemed totally fine on hard floors and carpet, but neither one made it past about 20 laps on RCP before the motors burned up. After looking things over, it seems like both cars came with a gear mesh that was way too tight, which puts a lot of extra load on the tiny 030 motor. I didn’t notice this until after the motors were already cooked, but it definitely didn’t help. A few other things stood out. The Microbe is noticeably heavier and slower than the Losi Micro-B/Micro-T (could have been due to the overly tight mesh), and the stock tires have very little grip. On RCP they mostly led to doughnuts, whereas the Pro-Lines that come on the Losi cars provide more than enough grip on RCP - traction roll becomes an issue with them if the car is thrown into corners at high speeds. I did try one Microbe with a set of Losi tires and it handled better, although the stock front tires still pushed into understeer. I’m sure the Microbe could be made to drive pretty well with a better motor, proper gear mesh, and upgraded tires, but by the time you do all that you’re basically at (or above) the price of the Losi, which already works out of the box. So based on my experience, I wouldn’t recommend the Microbe for RCP tracks unless you just want something different and don’t mind tinkering to get it right. For zipping around the living room, though, it’s probably perfectly fine. The biggest positive about this car is that throttle dual rate. This is so awesome to finally see instead of the 50/75/100 switch. Young kids still can’t handle 50% on the losi so being able to dial this way down makes it really kid/beginner friendly.
