Love MIP products but these are not useable if you plan to race your rc10. Installed on an og gold pan with correct shock length and even using the outside hole on both tower and arm they are too short and pop out almost every run. Good if you are building a car for the shelf I guess..should have read the reviews before purchasing.
I’ve been hearing nothing but praise for MIP for decades in the RC community, so I was excited to finally try their New CVDs on my Team Associated RC10 build. Unfortunately, these MIP Team Associated RC10 Re-Release CVD™ driveshafts are the biggest let down. Fit and finish are poor, the quality feels cheap compared to what I expected from MIP’s reputation, and they just don’t perform like the legendary parts everyone raves about. For the price, this is straight-up garbage. First time using MIP Parts and it’ll probably be my last. Really surprised and disappointed. MIP tools are top notch maybe stay with what you do Good.
Feedback on MIP RC10 Re-Release CVDs: I really wanted to like these, but unfortunately they suffer from the same design flaw as the OEM CVDs for the RC10 re-releases. The dogbone axle is too short and consistently pops out of the drive cup under normal use—just like the factory Team Associated versions. It’s disappointing, especially considering other companies offer extended (+1, +2) versions that actually fit properly and often cost less. It seems like MIP may have simply copied the re-release dimensions without addressing the original fitment issues. I’d strongly recommend doing more research before purchasing these—there are better-fitting alternatives out there. I have the exact same issue with their rc10t re release cvd’s. They also have the same problem on my rc10 team car which is an original and not a re release. So they don’t fit correctly on any model of rc10.
Three reviews, all rated 1 to 3 out of 5, report that these RC10 Re-Release CVD driveshafts are too short for the drive cup. Two reviewers say the dogbone pops out during normal running, including on a Team Associated gold pan with correct shock length and the outside mounting holes. One reviewer says the same flaw exists on the factory Team Associated CVDs and suggests that competing extended (+1, +2) designs fit better. The third reviewer criticises fit and finish and says the product does not match MIP's reputation, while noting that MIP tools are well regarded. The reviews agree that fitment is the recurring problem, and they suggest the parts may suit display builds more than racing.
