This Servo is a beast, and really really fast!!! Love it on my crawler. I will buy another for sure. FYI for those purchasing this. 25T horn.
I’ve been using the 550 series Servos in every rc I have, from 1/8 to 1/10 in off-road, oval, crawling and drift cars. Super smooth and gobs of power. I’m not sponsored by them but would fully stand behind them! MKS with this servo has delivered the best bang for your buck. You won’t be disappointed.
Great servos, using them in a TLR 8ight-T 4.0 for both steering and throttle. No issues at all, centers every time. Very impressed with these servos!
Amazing servos! The specs speak for themselves: high-torque, high-speed, high-voltage, very high-quality construction, super quiet, affordable. They provide buttery smooth and fast movement with tons of power. After using these, I’ll be switching everything over as they are the new benchmark IMO.
Not truely titanium. Let me just quickly say this, I have not even ran the server yet, But when I buy a servo that says titanium gear I expect all the gears except maybe the gear on the actual motor to be titanium. Not only were some gears not titanium, one of them was f****** brass. Not even steel. Don't get me wrong I will still run it because it has great reviews and I'm sure it will be fine. I'm just getting really sick of these companies saying metal gear or steel gear or titanium gear, and then when I open them up to waterproof them they are not what they say they are.
Reviewers widely praise the MKS X5 HBL550's speed, torque and value for the price, with many using it in 1/8 and 1/10 buggies, trucks, crawlers and helicopters. Build quality and smooth operation are often mentioned. Noise is the most common complaint, with reports of audible chatter or buzzing at neutral, sometimes requiring a strong BEC or careful endpoint setup. Several reviewers report early failures, including seizing, glitching or loss of one direction after a few months, and some describe slow or unhelpful warranty responses. Gear material was disputed by one reviewer, who found brass rather than titanium gears. Long-term durability remains mixed, as many reviews cover only a few sessions. Some reviewers note short spline or fit issues with certain horns.
