Installed one of these in my utb18 Capra with a set of brass knuckles and treal housings and man o man the night and day difference was shocking ! The small compact structure is perfect and still packs a punch
Soooooo....this is not a racing servo! I just checked the NSDRC website and the RS400 is a winch servo. The SS400 is the race servo. I have been using this in my 17.5 2WD buggy. Now I know why I had to set my end points to 50% of what they typically are with an actual race servo. The servo does work for my needs, but it sure would have been nice if this was properly advertised and I actually got the SS400 which is their racing servo.
Very fast turning and light weight. Ran my in a 1/10th scale car and was the answer I needed compared the the stock RTR servo!
Great servo for race or drift had this in my 1/10 outlaw sprint absolute beast
Reviewers largely praise this low-profile high-voltage servo for speed, torque and compact size, with several using it in 1/10 scale race, drift and crawler builds. One verified owner reported that the unit they received was a winch servo rather than the racing SS400 they expected, and noted that endpoints had to be adjusted accordingly, though they found it workable for their buggy. One reviewer criticised the overall set of reviews as unreliable, citing unverified entries clustered around a single date, but this claim is not substantiated in the product reviews themselves. Overall, performance feedback is consistently positive, with the main concern being product identity and listing accuracy.
- + Fast turning speed
- + Powerful for its size
- + Compact low-profile design
- + Lightweight
- − Possible mismatch with advertised model (winch servo received)
- − Endpoints need adjusting versus a true race servo
- − Reliability of reviews questioned by one reviewer
