About this part

70+ MPH RC Hydroplane Excitement!

This is the U-34 34" Miss Illinois RTR Brushless Hydroplane Boat from Pro Boat, delivering high-speed excitement inspired by full-scale H1 Unlimited hydroplane racing. Modeled after the real Miss Illinois U-34, this ready-to-run boat captures the aggressive stance, scale detail, and thrilling performance of its full-size counterpart. Equipped with a powerful 8S brushless system, it offers explosive acceleration and impressive top speeds right out of the box.

About the U-34

Dominant 8S Brushless Power System

The U-34 is powered by a Spektrum 8S 160A Smart ESC paired with a high-output water-cooled brushless motor, delivering incredible acceleration and top-end speed exceeding seventy miles per hour. This system provides strong “out of the hole” launches and sustained performance across long straightaways. Designed for high-performance operation, it gives drivers the power needed to push the limits on open water.

Advanced Aerodynamic Control System

Advanced Aerodynamic Control System Featuring an on-the-fly adjustable canard system integrated with the included DX3 Smart transmitter, this boat allows real-time tuning during operation. A dedicated emergency full-downforce button instantly adjusts the canard to help prevent blow-overs at high speed. Combined with an adjustable rear wing and precision turn fin, the platform offers exceptional handling and stability in varying water conditions.

Premium Build and Smart Features

Constructed with a precision injection-molded hull and high-quality CNC aluminum and stainless steel hardware, the U-34 is built for durability and performance. The SSL battery tray system allows for quick and secure battery installation, while the waterproof receiver box and dual water-cooling system ensure reliable operation. Additional features such as Smart telemetry compatibility and organized internal layout make this boat both powerful and easy to maintain.

Have an issue with the boat it runs for 45 seconds stops for a minute and then goes 15 seconds and stops for a minute almost indefinitely. Been through multiple battery packs loop the shaft make sure water was flowing through. Tried to call for technical support, horizon hobbies will not let you talk to a person unless you spent over $2500 to them try to chat was on hold for three hours waiting for product support before I gave up. Wrote an email outline everything I did and was told take it to a service center. This is absolutely unacceptable Customer Service after spending $700. you would think was spending that much money. I could actually get some technical support.

Great looking boat. A bit unstable at full speed or anything close to even on the smoothest water in stock form. After a few crashes the rear horizontal wing started to split so I removed it and it actually is much more stable and handles much better. I would buy this boat again

What reviewers say

Three reviews with mixed ratings (1, 4, 5 out of 5) for the Pro Boat U-34 34-inch Miss Illinois RTR brushless hydroplane boat. One reviewer reports a recurring power cut-out cycle (runs about 45 seconds, stops for a minute, repeats) despite trying multiple battery packs and clearing the shaft, and says technical support was hard to reach. Another reports the stock boat is unstable at speed and that removing the rear horizontal wing after crashes improved handling, though the wing began splitting after crashes. A third reviewer, with a single run, reports no issues. Reviews are few and do not clearly agree on reliability.

  • + Good looks
  • + Handles better with rear wing removed (one review)
  • − Power cut-out cycle reported (one review)
