About this part

This is a set of two pre-mounted Pro-Line Blockade 1/8 Buggy Tires, premounted on white Lightweight Velocity wheels. Historic. Revolutionary. The Best. Just a few words that have been used to describe Pro-Line's  Blockade tire. History was made the first time the Blockade touched the race track – Winning the 2011 ROAR Fuel Off-Road Nationals by 2 laps at the hands of Ryan Cavalieri! The Revolutionary tread design features large lugs for class leading tread life, perfectly balanced tread spacing for maximum forward bite and uniquely blended side tread that reduces the edginess found in other race tires. This tire will give your 1/8 buggy the speed of a qualifying tire, with tread life capable of handling hour long A-mains.

Pro-Line lives and breathes the philosophy of Racing To Bring You The Best and that is exactly what the Lightweight Velocity 1/8 Buggy wheel represents. Pro-Line engineers worked tirelessly to create the lightest possible wheel without compromising strength to give your buggy the lowest rotating mass and the fastest acceleration ever achieved. The lighter wheel also has a slightly higher level of flex which results in more traction in loose track conditions. The Lightweight wheel is marked with Pro-Line’s latest P-L logo giving your buggy looks that match the performance.

I paid extra for these because they deceived me into thinking the whole thing was made in the USA. These are assembled in Mexico, poorly. The glue job is sloppy, dripping onto the wheels. In our first outing, the tires and wheels separated. Only half the tire is glued on. It’s not hard to glue the tires into the wheel, but I paid extra for a very poorly performed service, with deceptive advertising. Should I trust this company on their word again? I think not.

If the manufacturing of these tires were perfect, I'd rate them 5 stars, as they do really well on my Mugen Seiki MBX8R Eco on just about any dirt track. They hook up well with the surface and I like how they feel on my car. I've also ran them on my Armma TLR Typhon on both 4S and 6S.However, I don't recommend running these tires on 6S as I found out the hard way lol. 6S literally ripped the rear tire off the wheel after about 15 min of running. As long as you stay with 4S or lower, these tires will hold up well. The last set of these I bought looked rather rough on the glue job...Some sets I get are done well and some look like they were glued by someone just learning how to glue their own tires. We've all been there at one point right fellas? The ol' too much glue and it runs down the sides of the tires...this is what I've seen with some sets of Pro-Line tires and its not only an issue with the Blockade tires. Its the Badlands, Avengers, Hex Shots etc. Pro-Line need to get some good quality control going because at $40+ for most pairs of Pro-Line tires, this isn't acceptable. Especially when I'm seeing cheaper brand tires often made much better and lasting just as long.

It's true that there is a lot of glue all over the outside of these wheels. It's probably the worst glue job I've ever seen. Edit: And they came apart after only 2 sessions, so I'm downgrading the original 3 star rating to a 1 for them putting all that glue on the outside and none on the inside.

Grip is very good with these tires. Wear is excellent!

These tires hooked up surprisingly well in dry conditions and showed little to no wear after 5 packs. I got to try a pack when the track was wet and the car had tremendous forward bite still. I also had a lot of side bite too which was causing some traction roll, however after taking out or adding in a degree or two from my front camber the tires were amazing. Great tire comparable to Proline Hole Shots, with less wear.

What reviewers say

Reviewers disagree sharply on these pre-mounted buggy tires. Several praise grip on dry and wet dirt, low wear over multiple packs, and good performance on 4S, with one noting the tires worked well after camber adjustment. Multiple reviewers criticise glue application, describing glue on the outside of the wheels, uneven or partial bonding, and tires separating from wheels after a few sessions. One reviewer reported the rear tire coming off on 6S and advised staying at 4S or lower. One reviewer said they were misled about where the tires were assembled and felt the assembly quality did not justify the price. One positive review is for the X4 Compound variant rather than the S3 compound. Assembly quality appears inconsistent between sets.

  • + Good grip in dry and wet conditions
  • + Low wear over several packs
  • + Performs well on 4S
  • + Good feel on several buggy chassis
  • − Inconsistent glue job
  • − Tires separating from wheels
  • − Rear tire came off on 6S
  • − Assembly quality doubts
