Great shocks, very tunable, would suggest replacing lower mounts with stock Traxxas ones. Other than that, these are good to go. I'll rate them four stars only because the lower mounts seem semi-weak. If these came with beefier lower mounts they'd be five star without doubt.
Please be advised, that I race offroad in the stock class with x2 Slash 4x4s. I've put these through the wringer as a racer and they're held up amazingly well. Outside of their rugged durability and aesthetically pleasing appearance, the performance of this suspension is U-N-R-E-A-L! I recommend these to anyone looking for a competitive edge, especially in the racing world. Add to it that Pro-Line has suspension tuning kits for this suspension setup and you're going to be thrilled. I tested two Slash 4x4s, one after the other, at the club track. It's an enormous track, technical, huge hits, and fast straightaways, and this suspension outshined every other configuration that I tried. I noted lap times between the Traxxas GTR suspension, stock, and more, and the laps were far better with the Pro-Line suspension. Do yourself a favor and upgrade to these shocks, regardless of if you're racing or bashing!
I gave these a bad rating previously because the clip issue mentioned before. I recently bought these for a friend as a present and the e clip issue that I previously encountered was fixed. Proline replaced the shock shaft in the new shocks with the lock nut style shock shaft. You can buy the lock nut style shafts separately on amazon but I haven't seen them on a main yet.
Very cool shocks! These especially work well with the Proline protrac suspension kit (Slash 2wd). The combination of the two makes a Traxxas slash very competitive.
These shock are costly, but well worth it! Super tough and they look sweet. After a few weeks of bashing them pretty hard on my back yard track, I have had no problems at all with these shocks. Highly recommended!!
Reviewers generally rate these Pro-Line PowerStroke front shocks highly for durability, tunability and appearance, with several describing them as tough and competitive on Slash 2WD and 4x4 platforms. Recurring concerns include weak stock lower mounts, soft stock pistons that some owners replaced with upgrades, and clip or shaft retention problems; one reviewer reported lost C-clips and a shock falling apart during a race day, while another said Pro-Line later replaced the shaft with a lock-nut style. Mounting hole fit was an issue for one buyer who needed an adapter. Several reviews are brief, and one review contains an unrelated customer question, so the overall picture rests on a moderate number of relevant experiences.
