Jonathan Hogueon Pro-Line PowerStroke Rear Shocks for Traxxas Slash (2)

Please be advised, that I race offroad in the stock class with x2 Slash 4x4s. I've put these through the wringer as a racer and they're held up amazingly well. Outside of their rugged durability and aesthetically pleasing appearance, the performance of this suspension is U-N-R-E-A-L! I recommend these to anyone looking for a competitive edge, especially in the racing world. Add to it that Pro-Line has suspension tuning kits for this suspension setup and you're going to be thrilled. I tested two Slash 4x4s, one after the other, at the club track. It's an enormous track, technical, huge hits, and fast straightaways, and this suspension outshined every other configuration that I tried. I noted lap times between the Traxxas GTR suspension, stock, and more, and the laps were far better with the Pro-Line suspension. Do yourself a favor and upgrade to these shocks, regardless of if you're racing or bashing!

This is an edited review as of 1-29-13. I deleted the review and replaced it because I recently bought these for a friend as a present and the e clip issue that I previously encountered was fixed. Proline replaced the shock shaft in the new shocks with the lock nut style shock shaft. Great product now!!!!!!

Great shocks and have used them for bashing for the last few weeks now, using them on my Losi baja rey 1/10 scale.

These work excellent on my Stampede! I bash around campsites and jump 4' regularly. Great all purpose shock.

    What reviewers say

Reviewers broadly rate these shocks highly, with most giving five stars. Several report durability under hard use, including racing and bashing, and smooth performance on Slash 4x4 and other RC platforms. One reviewer noted a fix to an e-clip issue after Pro-Line replaced the shock shaft with a lock-nut style shaft. Two reviewers gave three stars: one found that only 7 of 10 mounting holes were usable without an adapter, and another reported the shocks shipped without shock oil and felt the listing should have said so. Reviews are mostly enthusiastic, and some are from a single product variant, with a few mentioning use on other vehicles.

    • + Durable under racing and bashing
    • + Smooth, consistent performance
    • + Good build quality with no leaks
    • + Dual-spring design appearance
    • − Some mounting holes need an adapter
    • − Shipped without shock oil
    • − Shock shaft e-clip issue in earlier units
