About this part
ProTek RC 170SBL Black Label High Speed Brushless Servo.
Brushless servo technology has improved by leaps and bounds. Finally, brushless servos can deliver holding power, speed and precision that can compete with a coreless servo. Combine that with the superior efficiency and lifespan of a brushless motor and you have a servo that hits all the marks, with the performance and quality required for a pro level build.
A black anodized aluminum case with aluminum and white accents give this servo a stealthy look that sets it apart from the rest. The aluminum upper case provides bomb proof durability and the heat sink center case offers efficient heat dissipation and helps to reduce weight. The lead wire is detachable, allowing you to easily custom tailor the servo lead to your application, and the package includes both 135mm and 285mm length servo leads. Plus, a full selection of servo arms and mounting hardware are included making installation easy.
NOTE: If you experience glitching or poor performance while using a Futaba transmitter, you must turn off BLS mode. BLS mode is only compatible with Futaba BLS type servos.

Super fast, super strong, killer 8th scale steering servo. Replaceable servo leads lets you find the perfect length for that clean wiring we all desire.
These protek servos are Imo the best on the market hands down and with a awesome company like amain having your back and will fix 99% of any issues Imo it would be senseless to go with any other servo out there unless you use because of a big name or something , These servos are seriously BADASS
The 170 is by far the best servo I've used to date. The detachable leads is key and I can only hope that trend continues with future protek models. I've been using Protek's for a while now and even though they have caught up to other "top brands" in price they've always matched them in performance in reliability and the 170 is no different. I'd recommend this servo to anyone!
Great servo. It is my first time trying out the ProTek servos and it has proved to be a top notch from my experience so far. It has taken a good amount of beating but it is still going very strong. The finish on this is phenomenal. For about the same price, you're getting a brushless high speed servo that can cost you twice as much when you buy other brands. Give it a try!
Best servo I have used in thirty years of racing. It has a nice look and does not fade in the hot summer temps. I use them in all of my cars. Good job, Protek!
Reviewers overwhelmingly rate the ProTek 170SBL highly, praising its speed, torque, precise centering, build quality and anodized aluminium case, and frequently highlighting the detachable servo leads. Many report durability over multiple seasons of racing in 1/8 buggies and other cars. Recurring criticisms are few: one reviewer reported a gear pin failure after three months, another reported glitching with a Futaba 4PX radio, and a few noted fit or clearance issues requiring mount modification. Reports of a harness plug chafing against a mount and a loud idling noise also appear, along with a damaged-on-arrival unit and a duty-charge complaint for Canadian buyers. Several reviewers mention Amain customer support favourably. Some reviews refer to the 170TBL and other variants, and some owners note a higher price than before.
