About this part
ProTek RC 170TBL Black Label High Torque Brushless Servo.
Brushless servo technology has improved by leaps and bounds. Finally, brushless servos can deliver holding power, speed and precision that can compete with a coreless servo. Combine that with the superior efficiency and lifespan of a brushless motor and you have a servo that hits all the marks, with the performance and quality required for a pro level build. Backed by a Lifetime Gear Warranty through Amain Hobbies for added confidence and durability.
A black anodized aluminum case with aluminum and white accents give this servo a stealthy look that sets it apart from the rest. The aluminum upper case provides bomb proof durability and the heat sink center case offers efficient heat dissipation and helps to reduce weight. The lead wire is detachable, allowing you to easily custom tailor the servo lead to your application, and the package includes both 135mm and 285mm length servo leads. Plus, a full selection of servo arms and mounting hardware are included making installation easy.
NOTE: If you experience glitching or poor performance while using a Futaba transmitter, you must turn off BLS mode. BLS mode is only compatible with Futaba BLS type servos.

Awesome servo. I use ProTek servos in all of my cars/trucks, 1/10 and 1/8 scale and I have yet to be disappointed. Outstanding torque and precision steering from this servo. Highly recommended.
Great servo butter smooth extremely powerful. Worth the money.
These servos are seriously a great choice for 1/8 buggy / truggy nitro or electric , They are quiet as can be and hold up in extreme conditions 120° + Temps , And with A main having your back no matter what you can't go wrong , With other name brand servos if you have any issues with them you have to wait for a replacement , Not with a main tho . Point is if you run a nitro buggy or truggy it's a great/probably the best servo to go with Imo . I give it a 5 star rating outa 5 stars .
If this thing is just sitting on a shelf under a light just to look at I’d be happy with my purchase! It’s B. E. A. Utiful! Comes with everything you could possibly need to run a servo. An extension as well. WARNING: make sure you set your end points. If you’re using this for a throttle and brake servo do not connect links before taking some stroke off. Or at least be very mindful and careful. This thing has enough torque to rip the carb out of the engine, to tear the center differential right off the frame. And still with lightning fast speed. I don’t know how they do it, but they do it!!
Failed after 8-10hrs of use. Going to email amain and see if it's warrantied as it's only been 2 months since I bought it. And second race day in it failed. I Got my replacement same week I returned the old one A-main was more then happy to help me and send me a replacement. Going to test it out after this weekend race. (as i put a back up in my truggy) I think I just got a dud. All my cars have protek servos and I've never had a problem.
Most of the 60 reviews describe the 170TBL as very strong, fast and durable, with many owners using it for steering and throttle/brake in 1/8 and 1/10 buggies, truggies and some crawlers and short course trucks. Several reviewers say it has held up through crashes and multiple seasons. Recurring complaints concern fit: some owners of Tekno and AE kits had to trim the servo mount or grommet to clear the lead. A few reported early failures, including stripped gears, a servo that stopped working, and a twitching unit. Warranty experiences were mostly positive, though one reviewer said the retailer declined a replacement because the unit was not bought directly from it. Some reviewers found it slower or pricier than alternatives. Reviews focus on the 170TBL variant.
