"We had the honor of testing the ProTek RC 5600mAh LiPo battery and the results were incredible. It has more punch and less fade than any battery we have ever run, We are seeing hot laps at the end of our runs, which just does not happen in stock racing." - Chris Raymond - father and chief mechanic for 14-year-old ROAR stock off-road champion twin sons Levi and Chase Raymond

ProTek RC 2 Cell LiPo Battery: 7.4V Performance

The ProTek R/C 2S 150C Stock Spec 5600mAh Shorty LiPo Battery is a great choice for anyone looking for a reliable, low IR shorty-style pack. With lower internal resistance and extended cycle life, this pack delivers both performance and durability, making it a top pick for stock-class racing.

This pack is ideal pack for 2WD and 4WD stock racing that want optimum voltage for the entire run. The improved efficiency of this pack will allow for lower operating temperatures and lower internal resistance. This gives users a more consistent battery pack. ProTek stock spec + 150C Packs deliver the power needed by serious racers and enthusiasts alike.

Features:

  • Lighter and thinner than previous hardcase 2S LiPo packs
  • Provides great runtime, with incredible punch
  • Improved efficiency, lower operating temperatures, and lower internal resistance!
  • 10C max charge rates - 1C charge rate recommended for longest life
  • Designed for stock class racers

IMPORTANT LITHIUM POLYMER SAFETY INFORMATION

  • DO NOT leave a battery in your model when charging
  • DO NOT leave lithium batteries unattended when charging
  • ALWAYS balance charge lithium battery
  • ALWAYS use a LiPo Safe charging bag/box
  • YOU MUST use a Li-Poly specific charger to charge lithium batteries (NiMH or NiCD only chargers WILL NOT WORK!)
  • YOU MUST not over discharge lithium battery packs
  • READ & UNDERSTAND the instructions carefully before operating this battery

NOTE: When using high energy Li-Polymer Batteries, please do not over-discharge or over-charge batteries as this will result in overheated batteries. Discharging capacity can't exceed 80% of the max capacity of the pack after full charging to ensure a good cycle performance. It is recommended to fully charge a brand new battery before using and only discharge the battery 50% for the first 5 cycles. Always monitor race time and/or set a low voltage warning on ESC (End voltage cannot be lower than 3.2v per cell). Do not use a battery that has too low a voltage. Do not expose batteries to sunshine or store/charge batteries at temperatures above 35°C or in a closed car. The high-temperature environment could cause damage to the pack or make it burst. If the battery becomes hot while fast charging, high current discharging, or racing, do not charge it until it has cooled completely. Wait about 20 mins, then inspect prior to recharging.

I bought (2) of these batteries when they were announced to be available. I wasn't able to run them until this past weekend at Tacoma R/C. By far the best IRs right out of the box. I typically like to break my batteries in using a 4amp discharge/charge and do it three times. This weekend due to time I did the process once and moved to a 30 amp discharge to a 25 amp charge and then to a 30/30 and finally a 40/40. All weekend the batteries had IRs of 1.0-1.2. Great batteries so far.

Crazy low IR! These have been my go to choice since they came out for both stock and Mod Dirt oval racing.

These packs have a noticeable increase in power for 13.5 oval classes with no drop off in power over a run. I'd highly recommend this for all spec racing.

These are hands down the best batteries I have used! With the way that we are gearing 17.5 and 13.5 motors now a days you need the best to keep that punch throughout the entire main and these batteries deliver! Oh and that price! #thebest

I bought this battery to run in 12T Bruhsed Street Stock Oval and it keeps a noticeable punch through the entire race. You can really tell difference on the straightaway late in the race. Great battery at a great price.

What reviewers say

Reviewers largely praise this 2S Shorty LiPo for low internal resistance and consistent power through a run, particularly in stock and 13.5 spec oval racing. Several note strong punch late in the main and value for the price. Two reviews report failures: one battery would not charge, and another blew during a single practice cycle. Both negative reviewers describe the issue as a defective unit rather than a design trait, but the sample is small and the failure reports are distinct, so the overall picture rests on a limited number of owners.

  • + Low internal resistance
  • + Consistent power through the run
  • + Strong punch late in mains
  • + Good value for the price
  • − Individual units failed (would not charge, one blew in practice)
