ProTek RC Servo Lead & Terminal Crimping Tool
About this part
The ProTek RC Servo Lead & Terminal Crimping Tool is the tool you need to make custom length signal wires for your ESCs, receiver batteries and servos. This tool safely secures the connector pins on wire sizes between 14 and 28awg, without damaging the pin or the wire. Simply strip a short length of the shielding off the wires, install the connector pin into the tool, insert the wire into the pin, and squeeze the tool to crimp the pin in place.
NOTE: When changing the length of your signal wires or receiver battery connectors, for the best results we recommend you use new connectors.

TL;DR: Decent tool, but the instructions aren't helpful at all. The instructions on the back of the box are essentially useless. I had to search online to find a decent how-to video. (See below). Also the instructions seem to say that the crimp tightness is adjustable via the +/- dial on one side of the pliers. I still haven't figured out how to move that dial and actually adjust the crimp. Suggestion #1: Watch this video FIRST! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tyJAFQQf9fo. I was pretty frustrated with this tool and about to give up until I did a little Google'ing and found the aforementioned video. After following the video's instructions, looking closely at the tool, and noticing the staggering of the socket I was able to finally get a nice good crimp without damaging the wire or leads. Suggestion #2: PRACTICE BEFORE DAMAGING YOUR SERVO'S WIRING! Buy some spare servo wire, several extra sets of leads and practice, practice, practice.
These are the stuff! I bought some from my local hobby shop and they worked perfect. I had the old protek crimpers and they were terrible- these are a much better improvement. I used the closest slot to the handle to crimp my connectors. I also found the tension from the factory a little tight, so I loosened slightly and it was perfect. Don't hesitate to buy, works perfectly.
Love protek stuff. This item, however, is quite cheaply made and expensive compared to similar items. It is also difficult to line up the crimps. When I was evaluating this product, I was a little upset that this item is essentially the same thing that you would purchase from that big company that will deliver it tomorrow at 25% more. I just chalked it up to paying for Amain's superior customer service and am happy to know that they will fix any problem that arises from any purchase, quickly and without hesitation. The product, however, is still mediocre.
This was an awesome investment. Very well made, and easy to use.
Works Well. You will want to watch a YouTube from Painless360 on how to use it.
Nine verified-owner reviews average roughly 4.2 out of 5. Reviewers generally find the crimping tool well made and effective once understood, with several praising its ease of use. The most consistent complaint is that the printed instructions, including the Chinese-language text, are unhelpful; multiple reviewers say they relied on online videos to learn the adjustable crimp setting. Some note the tool feels cheaply made for its price, and that aligning small connectors in the jaws is fiddly. One reviewer reported a damaged, opened package on arrival. Opinions differ on the factory tension: one found it too tight and loosened it, while another said the tension was fine. All reviews are for the same variant.
