About this part

The ProTek R/C Starter Box Carrying Bag is safer and more convenient for carrying a roaring nitro vehicle to and from the pits.

1/8 scale tires spinning at several thousand RPMs are dangerous, especially when they’re just a couple of inches from your arm while you’re balancing a vehicle atop the starter box. Not to mention, the fumes that smack you in the face with every rev of the engine. ProTek R/C’s Starter Box Carrying Bag allows you to comfortably carry a 1/8 scale nitro vehicle at your side when moving in and out of pit row. The Carrying Bag frees up your other hand while putting the weight of the 1/8-scale vehicle and starter box much lower in a more natural position - your arm will thank you!

The all canvas Starter Box Carrying Bag features an interior liner and two 13” handle straps that won’t interfere with the tires. The liner is fuel resistant and easily cleans up when things get messy. The carrying bag will accommodate most popular starter boxes including: ProTek R/C SureStart, OFNA 1/10 & 1/8 starter boxes, Mugen Seiki Pro Starter BIII, LRP 1/10 & 1/8 Spec 2, Hudy “Star-Box”, Team Associated Compact 1/10 & 1/8 starter boxes and Team Losi 8IGHT & 8IGHT-T starter boxes. Make it easy on your pit guy and grab a ProTek R/C Starter Box Carrying Bag.

Features:

  • Durable, heavy-duty bag material
  • Dual handles won't interfere with tires
  • Safe, one handed pit operation
  • No fumes in your face
  • Compatible with boxes up to 5.5" (14cm) wide x 14.5" (36.8cm) long

I will never have a nitro car without this bag. No more worry about the mechanic dropping the car during warm ups. The old version was better as the straps were shorted and had Velcro to keep them from falling into the wheels while on the box running the car. Once I shortened them up and added Velcro, 5 stars.

Bag is perfect fit for standard starter boxes. You can tuck your glow igniter along with tuning driver in the side. Mine came with the shorter straps and they are easier to carry and faster to tuck under bag when starting vehicle.

It works. This things ridiculously handy. Dunno why I waited so long to get one. Have ran nitro for years, but new to racing.

Just get the Protek nitro pit bag, which fits the bump box plus tools. Straps get in the way of the tires if you're in a hurry. Kind of a redundant intermediary product. This is coming from a protek fanboy. Plz just save up and get the nitro pit bag instead!-customer who loves the nitro pit bag

What reviewers say

Reviewers generally find the carry bag handy for nitro starter boxes, especially for off-road buggy and truggy use. Several praise the bag for fitting standard and larger starter boxes and for storing a glow igniter and tuning driver in the side. Strap length is a point of difference: one reviewer says shorter straps are easier to carry and tuck under the bag, while another reports straps catching the tyres and says a shorter version with Velcro worked better. One reviewer suggests the separate ProTek nitro pit bag may be a better choice, noting it fits a bump box plus tools. Most reviews are positive, though the sample is small.

  • + Side pocket for glow igniter and tuning driver
