Quality of this charge lead is fine, don’t need to be running 10A through a transmitter so the thinner gauge wire is just fine. My issue is that the description states that it fits most transmitters… wish I would have known that it was NOT going to fit my Futaba radio. Oh well, live and learn.
I just received this power supply to charger patch cord. The red (positive) banana plug goes to the center of the 5.5 mm charger plug.....good.....that works with my chargers. I got this cord to use with my new Protek 10 amp 12 volt power supply from Amain. This power supply fresh out of box today works great so far as it should, the fan runs all the time yet is silent. Back to this patch cord. The only thing not perfect is the wires are very thin gauge so if you are carrying this around often in your hobby travels it may not be super durable. Or if your charger is routinely pulling more than six amps this is probably not the best cable to use. Still for $2.99 it's fine for my turnigy accucel 6 amp charger mostly using it with 850-1300mah 3S and 4S lipos for the smaller airplanes and blade 300x helis.
Is the center Positive or is the outside positive?
Reviews are limited to three, with mixed sentiment. One verified owner found the thin-gauge wire adequate for transmitter charging but reported that the cable did not fit their Futaba radio despite the listing saying it fits most transmitters. Another reviewer said it works with their chargers, with the red banana plug going to the centre of the 5.5 mm plug, and called it fine for the price, while noting thin wires may not be durable for frequent travel and are unsuitable for chargers drawing more than about six amps. The third review is a question about polarity and contains no evaluation of the product.
