Joshua Hamiltonon RC4WD 540 Crawler Brushed Motor (45T)

I put this motor in my capra after the original 35t burnt out. It's been ok... but not the best. (Keep in mind I'm running the rtr esc still). It will spin faster than any 45T I've seen but I believe that's why it is severely lacking in torque and punch. It's fine, I been running it for a couple weeks now without issue. Just disappointed in the actual performance.

This motor has outperformed my Titan 21T by a long shot! My first run with 2.2s was with the Titan and it instantly smoked itself lol. This motor I’ve had since September 2020 and it’s been great. I’ve submerged it a few times in water, gotten plenty of sand in it and it just keeps going. It’s obviously slow since it’s a 45t, but what do you expect. If you are replacing a motor on a budget, get the Holmes CrawlMaster Sport 13-16t or TrailMaster sport 21-35t, they are about $25-$30, it they will be way smoother and more controllable. But this motor is still good!

My old motor was too noisy and burned up my batteries too fast. Thought this would be a good choice. Motor burned up within 10 minutes of using.

What reviewers say

Reviewers report mixed experiences with this 45T brushed crawler motor. One owner found it reliable for several weeks in a Capra, though it felt weak on torque and punch, and a second owner described long-term durability in sand and water after a few submersions, calling it slow but suitable for crawling. A third verified owner reported the motor burning out within 10 minutes of use. Reviewers agree the motor is slow and low on torque for its class. One reviewer suggested cheaper alternatives for a budget replacement. Failure reports are limited to one review, so reliability is uncertain.

  • + Durable in sand and water
  • + Long-term reliability for some owners
  • + Works well for slow crawling
  • − Lacks torque and punch
  • − Slow for a 45T motor
  • − Burned out quickly for one owner
