WBVerified owneron RC4WD Metal Front Winch Bumper for Traxxas TRX-4

Mounting brackets/bars snapped off after 6 months. The look of the bumper is really nice and the actual bumper is really sturdy. Disappointed that it looks like I will have to get a whole new bumper and can't just replace the parts.

This is a solid and reasonably heavy piece. It definitely gives a stout feeling to the truck. Mine came with a loose front hoop. This hoop is the logical place to lift the truck when carrying (one reason I bought it). Where the hoop is attached to the main part of the bumper was loose enough to pull out, making it useless as a lift point. I was able to remedy it with thick cyanoacrylate glue. It needs an adapter to mount to the TRX-4. I used RC4WD Aluminum Front Bumper Mount Conversion for the TRX-4 RC4Z-S1840 to install it. I have since removed it as it reduced my approach angle too much.

Jake Edingeron RC4WD Metal Front Winch Bumper for Traxxas TRX-4

Bought this bumper on 10/13/2020 when I got it home I was looking at it. I found a huge tool mark gouge that was left from the tooling of this bumper. It is on the left hand side. hopefully when my wench come in it will hide it. Over all i like the bumper it is a solid piece of metal with a good amount of weight.

What reviewers say

Reviewers describe the bumper as solid, sturdy and heavy, with a good look and a substantial feel on the truck. Recurring problems include a loose front hoop that one reviewer found could pull out, making the lift point unusable, and a mounting bracket that snapped after about six months. One reviewer reported a large tool-mark gouge on the left side out of the box. Reviewers note that the bumper needs an adapter to mount to the TRX-4, and one used a conversion mount that reduced approach angle. Ratings are 2, 3 and 4 out of 5 across three reviews, so the sample is small.

  • + Solid, sturdy metal construction
  • + Heavy, substantial feel
  • + Good appearance
  • − Mounting bracket snapped after about six months
  • − Loose front hoop
  • − Tool-mark gouge on arrival
  • − Requires adapter; conversion mount reduced approach angle
