About this part

This is a pack of two RC4WD "Mud Slingers" 1.9 Tires. This tire was the first RC4WD tire offering for the tire market. The tall, aggressive lugs with side biters really dig into soft surfaces and have fantastic grip on rocks. These are easily one of the best 1.9-inch tires available. The pattern includes a variety of fine details that really make the tires stand out, and give your rig an aggressive look.

These tires have a smaller bead area and fit best on most glue on wheels, when compared to the original version of the Mud Slinger. The compound is much softer than the original as well, requiring the use of the included foam inserts to support the truck. The inserts can be trimmed if you desire a softer, more conforming tire. However, the included foams are nice and soft and “just right” with a good mix of support and flex.

NOTE: Due to the different methods used to design an manufacture tires and wheels, RC4WD can not guarantee the fit between RC4WD wheels/tires and other brands of wheel and tires. For the best results, use RC4WD tires and wheels together. In some cases RC4WD wheels and tires will work with other brand wheels and tires, but RC4WD can not guarantee the outcome.

Wich I would have read the review. 1.9 is what they say but they have to be the smallest 1.9's I've ever seen.

These tires are extremely small. A little more than 1/2 inch shorter than the stock SCX10 tires. Totally disappointed and now have tires that just make my Jeep look stupid so will not be rocking these.

just got my 2x 1.9 mud slinger today, very happy with this tires, it just what I need to build my costum scale on my tamiya's wrangler yj body, as it has short wheelbase I need bit small diameter to make it look scale

Really like these tires, meant for a lighter truck unless you plan on swaping out the foam inside. Gets good grip on almost all terrains. Great looking tire aswell, 2 years so far on a vaterra ascender suburban with no complaints.

What reviewers say

Reviewers are split on these 1.9-inch tires. Several report the tires are noticeably smaller than expected, with one measuring them a little over half an inch shorter than stock SCX10 tires and another saying they look undersized on a Jeep. Two reviewers advise against buying them for stock-sized trucks. Others are satisfied: one wanted a smaller diameter for a scale look on a short-wheelbase Tamiya Wrangler YJ, and another reports good grip on most terrain and two years of use on a Vaterra Ascender Suburban without complaints. One reviewer notes they suit lighter trucks unless the foam inside is replaced. All reviews refer to the same (X3) variant.

  • + Good grip on most terrains
  • + Scale-appropriate small diameter for short-wheelbase builds
  • + Good looks
  • + Durable over two years of use
  • − Noticeably smaller than stated 1.9 size
  • − Too small for stock-sized trucks such as TRX-4 or SCX10
  • − Best suited to lighter trucks unless foam is swapped
