RealFlight Trainer Edition Flight Simulator w/Spektrum SLT6 Transmitter
About this part
Flight Simulator Overview:
The RealFlight Trainer Edition RC Flight Simulator with SLT6 Transmitter is an outstanding tool for aspiring RC pilots. It features eight different trainer aircraft, including six popular airplanes from HobbyZone and E-flite and two helicopters from Blade, making it perfect for beginners. The simulator includes Virtual Flight Instructor lessons, which are ideal for first-time pilots, enabling them to practice on a computer before attempting to fly real models. This version also offers unlockable reward content, with nearly two dozen "Next Step After a Trainer" aircraft and four additional flying sites that become available after just 2–4 hours of practice. This gamified approach encourages users to practice more while providing a progressive learning curve.
The SLT6 Transmitter is another highlight of the RealFlight Trainer Edition. It is equipped with Spektrum 2.4GHz SLT technology, making it compatible with ultra-micro/UMX aircraft featuring SLT FHSS receivers. The 6-channel transmitter includes one 3-position switch, two 2-position switches, and one momentary button, providing flexibility and control. The USB-C port allows the transmitter to function seamlessly with the RealFlight Trainer Edition and Evolution, ensuring an easy connection to PCs for a plug-and-play experience. This feature helps prevent wear and tear on field transmitters, extending their lifespan and maintaining their reliability for real-world use.
The RealFlight Trainer Edition's capabilities go beyond just the basics of flying. Once the fundamentals are mastered, users can learn advanced maneuvers like loops, rolls, and inverted flight. The simulator also offers a discounted upgrade to RealFlight Evolution, which includes over 300 different aircraft and more than 75 flying sites, expanding the learning and practice opportunities. The modern user interface is intuitive and easy to navigate, and multiplayer options allow for training and flying with others online. Additionally, features like the option to add wind conditions and unlock float flying make the simulation experience more realistic and comprehensive. The combination of high-fidelity physics, a broad selection of training content, and versatile transmitter/controller options make RealFlight Trainer Edition an exceptional choice for anyone serious about learning to fly RC aircraft.

I love my RealFlight Trainer Edition! For a hundred bucks, I can get quality practice of my stick skills before I fly my new electric trainer. I have no RC flying experience and feel that this is really helping me. I have over 2 hours of flight time and have now switched from beginner to intermediate mode. I feel the beginner mode does too much to intervene with my control and is possibly teaching me some bad habits that I will need to break once I'm flying for real. In beginner mode however it really does a good job of returning the plane to level flight should you get yourself in trouble. It comes with a good quality but basic 6 channel radio that feels good enough to me. The only hiccup at all with my experience with this simulator was in getting set up on Steam. The instruction provided with the simulator said to scratch off the label to reveal the code needed to get set up on Steam but it was not a scratcher and I ended up destroying the number that was written on the label. Luckily, I had written the number down or else I would have been in serious trouble. I feel that once I have mastered flying on the RealFlight Trainer Edition, I will indeed be ready to fly my Arrows Bigfoot.
Little bit to Install it but great product. Transmiter has a good and confortable size
This is my first time using the software, however got off to a bad start. First off would like to make recommendations to the Spektrum troubleshooting section or User Manual. Please include what to do when the batteries are dying. When my controller started to chirp, the green light was flashing, so as Veteran I tried to troubleshoot it on my own and due to the long process of unsuccessfully finding my situation that is when I noticed it powered down to dead. Which was the obvious problem being the batteries. Lastly please include how to bind the heli to the controller. Other than that I love the Trainer Edition for now because I'm still getting the hang of it and power through to more exciting challenges this software possess.
Three verified owners rated the RealFlight Trainer Edition with Spektrum SLT6 transmitter 5/5. Reviewers praise it as a low-cost way to practise stick skills for newcomers, with one reporting over two hours of use and a move from beginner to intermediate mode. The transmitter is described as good quality, basic, and comfortable in size. One reviewer found installation somewhat involved. A recurring issue is that a reviewer's transmitter powered down when batteries ran low after the controller chirped and its green light flashed; that reviewer asked for battery troubleshooting and heli-binding instructions to be added to the manual. Another reviewer felt beginner mode intervenes too much, which may encourage habits to unlearn.
